Evie and the British boy sat across from each other in a dimly lit room. It was decorated in a Asian theme all complete with bonsi tree and a small waterfall and a ceremonial table. Evie handed the boy a mug full of hot chocolate, then sat down.
"Now," Evie began, "Where do I start?"
Ask him how he got his powers.
Ask him what his name is and how he got involved with those two.
Ask him if he's single.
"So, tell me about yourself, uh, I don't think you ever told me your name." Evie said.
"Oh I'm sorry, yes how rude of me, I guess in the heat of the situation I completely forgot everything." The boy said as he held the cup in his hand, "My name is Ryder, Braxton Ryder." Evie nodded and motioned her hand for him to continue. "I was abandoned here from my parents when I was about seven, I was originally from Essex. Do you know where that is?"
"Oh yes I do, it's where Gorillaz headquarters is!" Evie said excitedly, causing her hot chocolate to spill on her pants, she quickly hid the stain with her hoodie.
"Well I've been living in homeless shelters over the past eight years, that's when I found myself here, where two girls were willing to steal things and I would pawn it for food, and, and other things." Braxton replied as he played with the strings on his hoodie.
"And that leads to tonight I'm guessing?" Evie asked, sipping out of her hot chocolate.
"Yes, yes I would suppose so." He trailed off as he stared into the murky brown of his drink.
"Then why are you acting so nervous? Fidgeting, avoiding eye contact, you're the works kid." Evie asked.
"You wouldn't believe me." He said quietly.
"I'll believe you." Evie said as she gave him a small smile.
He signed, setting down the mug on the table, "What do you want to know?"
"How could I hear you, at the bowling alley I could hear you." Evie replied.
Ask him if he's single.
"I can, I can sometimes, I can sometimes hear voices, not my own. I have no idea when it started, it just did one day in Boston, Massachusetts. I woke up and I heard everyone's voice in my head simultaneously. As I continued to travel, I also learned to control it."
"Then did you hear everything I was thinking in the bowling alley?" Evie asked nervously.
"I didn't hear much. It was only a few sentences. I only heard what you replied with, that was it. I apologize if that seems rude."
"Not at all, another girl on our team is a telepath, but, I guess the best way to say it is," she sighed, "she defiantly isn't my favorite person in the universe. Now why did you choose me to speak to telepathically? And are you reading my mind right now?"
"I can't quite say, I just saw you and, with lack of a better word, looking at you calmed me. And no, I wouldn't do that."
Ask him if he's single.
I'm actually kinda agreeing with Aphrodite on this one.
It's way too soon, give it a month.
"Why do you say that?" Evie answered, ignoring her voices for once. "That I calmed you."
"Honestly, because I knew who you were. You're Chemical Kid, I knew you were a superhero, and that the group you were with were most likely other heros."
