"What if I wanted to stay?" I looked at the lake again and I could feel their eyes wide and digging into me.
"You cannot be serious Rose!" Marie shouted.
"You can't just leave the life you had and take a vacation and decide to stay, you can't leave the love of your life behind to search and search for you until he dies of hunger, you can't Rose, you can't!" Marie was inches away from me now and it seemed as if tears were forming in her eyes.
"But you won't change your mind will you, because it's all just a silly little game to you." She gave me one last glare and she was gone. I watched the lake as night fell and thought about what she said, she sounded hurt.
"She's right you know." Sophia's voice woke me up from my thoughts and I looked at her but she was looking back at the lake.
"You can't leave your life once you know what you are, I've tried it many times and I didn't succeed." She stared at the lake and her eyes were slowly relaxing.
"And you certainly can't leave the love of your life that's for sure." She laughed for a small second.
"But I'm dangerous, I'm stronger than all of you put together and I've accidentally hurt most of you a couple times."
"That doesn't matter to us, only fire can hurt us, you need to browse on your facts about vampires a little further." She raised her eyebrows and we both laughed together, everything was perfect in that moment.
"Night is falling now and I'm starting to get a little hungry and don't want to eat you today." She jumped off the balcony in an elegant motion.
"Please think about it!" She shouted up at me.
"You know I may be acting like a human but I still do have my ability to hear you incredibly easily!"
"Goodbye rose don't let the bed bugs bite now!" I heard her as she ran away to fetch a deer in the woods. I held my hand out hoping to see that little purple light, I was cheating on my vacation but it was for a cause. I played around with the light in my hand changing it's colour and spreading it out and that's when I saw that I had created a beautiful purple aura around me, I touched it and it didn't affect me, before when I tried to put all the elements together it hurt when you touched it but now it was controllable, I smiled and laughed in shock.
"Just a couple more days." I repeated it over and over in my head, I needed to control it to be able to go back. After a couple days of practising dawn was beginning to break as I looked up from the water, I found a small field whilst running and it followed through towards the lake. I learnt how to control my earth elements and water element but luckily this was a ghost town and not many people stayed so no one found me. Running wasn't as difficult to get back into, it was simple and it felt exhilarating. I realised I had spent a full 24 hours outside when the sun slowly began to rise and that's when I passed out from exhaustion. I woke up when the sun was setting and realised how long I slept for, I was late, I looked out at the water and reached my hand out towards it hoping it wouldn't follow, I closed my eyes wishing I had finally taken control, I slowly opened my eyes and the water didn't follow into my fingers, I smiled, I guess this was it.
