Before they could answer, a door burst open. We ran to see what was going on. The other boys were there with Suyung. She was being carried by Hyunwoo and Hayoung. Her clothes were ripped, showing a large cut along her exposed stomach. I could tell that she was barely conscious.

Kangmin and Jisung helped get Suyung to the couch as Taeseon ran upstairs, coming back down with what I assumed to be a first aid kit type thing. I kept my eyes on my best friend at all times as if looking away for even a second would mean her dying. In this crazy world I've been dragged into, I would go completely insane if I lost her. If she dies, whoever that man is is gonna get it. I don't know how I'd get revenge, but it would definitely happen. The one thing you don't do it hurt my friends.

Clearly sensing my fear of losing her, Siwoo put a reaffirming hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry, y/n. She'll pull through. Taeseon is really good at first aid, and Samuel is one his way. Healing is his specialty."

I just nodded. I trusted Taeseon, and I couldn't help but trust the boy who'd saved me, but I was still beyond worried. That was my best friend.

"What...what happened to her?" My voice broke, showing my distress over seeing her like that.

"Living away from this world for so long without fighting people from here, like goblins, she wasn't used to fighting someone like that. She was at a disadvantage, so she was bested. Fortunately, every time someone beats her, she has a gift to be able to predict their every move the next time she encounters them. She'll be ready next time he shows up, assuming she's better by then." Hohyeon had a gentle smile as he tried to give me as much reassurance as he could.

"How soon do you think she'll be better?" I still hadn't taken my eyes off of her as Taeseon tended to her very obviously wounded stomach.

Taeseon took a moment before thinking, still not shifting his attention from what he was doing. "At this severity, maybe a week or two with Samuel. Without Samuel's help, a month at least."

"Is Samuel really that good at healing?" I tilted my head. I knew he had to be pretty good. I hadn't felt any pain from any of my bruises despite getting them less than 24 hours ago. "He healed me a little bit yesterday. That man...he beat me because I said that I didn't know who he was, and Samuel came to help me."

"I'm sure Jisung or Kangmin already told you about some of what's going on, right?" Hayoung was assisting Taeseon as he turned to look at me for a moment. I just nodded in response. "One of the gifts goblins have is healing. That's why most of them are good. They mainly help people through healing and blessing them, but they can also hurt people."

I just nodded, looking at Suyung's wounds and thinking about how badly he had hurt me. I wonder why he didn't hurt me as bad as he hurt her. "Ah...If Suyung and I are from here? What exactly are we?"

"That's a bit...complicated. You're actually a hybrid species. Your mom is a hybrid, and your dad was something completely different." Jihun scratched his head slightly as if trying to think of the best way to explain. "What your mom is, it's not something you would know. Her parents are both from very rare species, which makes you and your mom especially special. As for your dad...I don't think you really want to know about him."

Hakmin took over to explain what species Suyung was. "Suyung is a hybrid too, but of common races. It's an unusual mix, but both species are common. The part that her fighting instinct comes from is like us. Her dad was a wolf from the same pack as all of our dads. It was a small pack of only eleven. That's how we met. She doesn't see her mom much though because wolves don't typically get along with the more...delicate species."

"What Hakmin means is that her mom was what you would call a fairy. I'm not even really sure how her parents ended up together." Hyunwoo's deep voice made what they were saying even stranger. Imagine a guy with a super deep voice telling you that fairies actually do exist. I almost guarantee you'd think it was weirder than say Kangmin who has a naturally very cute voice.

As I was still processing everything, Samuel came through the door, practicing shouting. "Where's Suyung?"
