Once my father was defeated, the wall of fog around the boys dissipated. Let's just say that they were a bit flabbergasted about what they were seeing. I can't blame them. I felt the same way when a similar situation happened to me. Once everyone had been ushered inside, we explained what had happened, which didn't really help with their surprise.
Taeseon was the first to recover from the shock. "So let me get this straight, our little y/n, Samuel, and the sister they just met time traveled so that the new sister could double cross their dad?"
"Well...when you put it like that..." I was at a loss for words at Taeseon's summary of our story. It wasn't inaccurate, but still...Wow. That happened. Just a few months ago, I was just a normal high school girl. Now I'm surrounded by werewolves, a vampire, my half-goblin-half-angel brother and half-goblin-half-witch sister who were born at the same time as me, and my half-werewolf-half-fairy best friend. A lot has changed. I've literally watched almost everyone I love die then rewinded time to bring them back to life. Not everyday that that happens. "I also got my real memories back. Well, at least some of them. I still don't remember dating Minsu or which ever of the other ten of you I apparently dated."
Later that night, I was laying in bed and there was a knock on the door. I quietly announced that it was open, smiling when I saw Hayoung enter my room. I sat up as he leaned on the window sill. "You had quite an eventful day."
I let out a slight laugh as I nodded. "Not just an eventful day. Ever since I stumbled into a different dimension, it's been eventful."
It was his turn to laugh. "I guess you're right. Think you'll sleep okay? It's not everyday you get into life or death situations like today."
I nodded. "I'll be fine. I'm not the one that actually died, well until we went back in time to save your sorry butts."
The smile on his face made my stomach do a backflip. Something about him made it impossible for me not to smile when he was around. I'd never had a real relationship, at least that I can remember though the memory block that's been put in my head, but I'd heard about the whole "getting butterflies in your stomach" thing. Is this what that is?
He moved closer to me, my pulse quickening. "You know, I was going to sing you to sleep to help you if you needed it, but I guess since you don't..."
He started walking towards the door. Instinctively, I called out his name. "Hayoung! I'm not really that tired right now. Do you think you could hang out and just talk to me?"
Cue that wonderful, irresistible smile of his. He nodded, moving to sit next to me on the bed. We talked for what felt like hours about nothing particular. It was nice to get to spend time just talking to him without being scared about what the heck was going on or having to worry about when my dad was going to come to kill everyone I love so he could abuse my power. It was calming, so calming, in fact, that I fell asleep.
The next morning, I woke up to find his face right by mine. I guess he'd fallen asleep too. He was still asleep, so I took the chance to observe his facial features. He was truly a good looking man. Without thinking, I moved closer to him, my lips finding his. As soon as I realized what I did, I moved backwards, scolding myself, but I didn't have long to scold myself before those big brown eyes opened, looking directly into mine as his lips found themselves in a smirk.
"Did you just kiss me? And don't even think about lying. Wolves can smell it when you lie." I almost laughed. That whole wolves smelling lies thing sounded like a load of bullcrap.
Too embarrassed to admit it, and not wanting to risk what he told me being true (even if it sounded ridiculous), I gave a neutral answer. "Maybe. Maybe not. The world may never know."
He chuckled, making me feel the vibrations of his chest due to our closeness. Realizing how close we were, I instinctively tried to move away in vain. His grip around my waist tightened, only making me closer to him. "If you did...I was going to return the favor. Believe it or not, I loved you even before you started dating Hakmin all those years ago, and I never stopped."
I was stunned, unable to say anything. After a moment of me not responding, he chuckled again and place his lips on mine for a split second before standing up and running out the door. What a child...
~~~~~Years Later~~~~~
Hayoung and I have been dating for a few years now, and he's still just as childish as he was when we were kids. I'd regained all of my memories, but not my feelings for either Minsu or Hakmin. Actually, Minsu ended up dating Sora. He doesn't know it yet, but he's going to start planning on proposing to her in about a week. Perks of being a sylph is that I get to snoop around in other people's business without them knowing about that business. It's a pretty good party trick. I've met other people in this dimension that don't know what I am, and it's always fun to see their reactions when I predict something moments before it happens. I've actually started making a career from it, but that's not want you want to hear about, right? You wanna hear about what happens tonight. Honestly, I do too. I had promised Hayoung not to do too much prophesying when it comes to our relationship as he likes to surprise me. Today was definitely one of those days. Even though I didn't know what it was exactly, I knew it was coming.
Hayoung had dragged me out into the woods, where the rest of his pack was. There were about thirty families in total, and they were all there tonight. We were all sitting around a bonfire, eating. It was a bit unnerving to see half of them eating everything raw, but it's okay. I'm over it.
Halfway through the meal, Hayoung started talking. "Once upon a time, there were two wolves that fell for a little girl of mixed origin. They were best friends and agreed that if one of them were to date her and break up, the other would get her. Fair and square. Luckily for me, Hakmin messed up, and they broke up. Unfortunately, she started dating someone besides the other wolf, a vampire no less. One day, she left his life completely before coming back a few years later. After a crazy few months of fear and violence and confessions, the wolf, now grown up, confessed to her after she attempted to sneak a kiss from his while he was sleeping. They started dating, and they've been going on for years now, but the wolf doesn't want her to be his girlfriend anymore. He wants her to be his wife, if she'll take him."
I felt tears pool in my eyes as I jumped into his arms in a sign of agreeance. And to think I could've just lived a calm, normal life and married a calm, normal human. How do you humans do that when you could have adventures that turn into love stories?
