As the bulky green dragon led you through the crumbling city of War Fang, you couldn't help but feel as though you've seen him before somewhere... but you couldn't quite place it. "What's your name?" You asked through the crystal in your mouth.

He did not speak for a few moments, only glancing back at you as he avoided fallen buildings that lay scattered across the cobble ground. "My name is Terrador, The Earth Guardian."

After that he didn't speak anymore, nor did he question the reasons behind why you carried the Red Crystal with you, which was fine by you.

___Time Skip___

It's been at least 30 minutes since Terrador found you, and it felt as though you've been walking forever, the reason behind that being that Terrador believes the skies to be to dangerous to fly in, with all the boulders being thrown back and forth between the battle and chunks of falling buildings are also a casualty, so he deemed it safer to walk.

"What is your name, hatchling?" He suddenly rumbled out in his deep voice.

You snapped your head out of your thoughts to see that he has slowed down to match your slower pace, his green eyes holding a faint hint of curiosity as he looked down at you.

Finally finding your voice, you spoke. "Ma' name? It's (Y/n)." You answered as clearly as you could through the crystal, which was beginning to hurt carrying around.

Keeping one's mouth open for this long is painful... man, you're going to have a serious ache in your jaw the next time you wake up.

He simply nodded before continuing on, much to your surprise, you had taken him for a dragon who didn't like to converse much. "Well (Y/n), how did you get that scar on your neck?"

You looked up at him in confusion. 'Scar?'

Terrador didn't seem to catch your confused look, because he added his own input. "Because to me, it looks as though someone was trying to kill you... and failed."

Lifting one of your front paws, you stopped and felt your neck.

You couldn't feel the touch of your paw as you rubbed it across the skin of your throat. It went all the way from either side of the front of your neck to the underside of your chin.

'How did... Spyro!' You processed. 'It was when he tried to crush my throat!... maybe it was the form he took that kept it from healing all the way?'

"I..." You began. "It happened while I was in a fight... he didn't like me very much at that moment, so he tried to rip my throat out..." That was all you could think of as you began to try and match his pace, which had subconsciously quickened.

He nodded with a hum, not speaking of the matter anymore, feeling that it was something that you didn't like to speak of, so he decided to change the subject. "That crystal..." He began, gaining your attention once again. "Why do you carry it with you?"

There it was, the question everyone seemed to ask. You were beginning to think it wasn't natural for someone to keep crystals with them.

"It was given to me by someone I respect, he helped me see when I was lost and angry. He taught me what he could... and this crystal is a promise that we will meet again one day..." You trailed off, just now realizing that you had began to ramble a bit.

Terrador gave a short nod. "So he was your teacher?"

"Mmhm." You hummed, jumping over a fallen statue.

It was silent again, but this time, it was silent because Terrador heard something. "Get behind me hatchling." He ordered quietly.

You didn't bother to ask why, because as soon as you ran behind the taller dragon, the ground began to shake, and a strange, large beast began to force it's way out of the cobblestone flooring, which cracked and flew about every which way as it emerged from where ever it came from.

As it finally stood up, you got a better look at it, and couldn't help but to compare it to an ape. Although, it looked to be made out of roots and stone, with moss growing out of anywhere it could, which was mainly the back. The beast's fists where made of stone, which had strange markings carved into it.

"What is that?" You found yourself whispering, watching as it began to slowly tread towards the both of you, eyes glowing red as with each step it took, the ground shook.

"That," Terrador began, going into a defensive stance as he used his tail to push you farther away, to which you reluctantly stepped backwards. "Is a Troll."

Without warning, the Troll stood up and banged on its chest threateningly before dropping back down with a boom. It aimed a fist at Terrador before bringing it down with a crushing blow, barely missing the green male by an inch.

Terrador quickly took the opportunity to use his tail and swing it around, hitting the creature across the head before taking a huge leap backwards, away from the Troll, causing it to stumble and let out an intimidating growl. You watched with wide eyes as it charged at Terrador, stone fists raised high above its head, but said male blew an Earth Bomb in it's face, causing it to miss its target and break through a fallen building.

As well as this was going, you couldn't help but to feel useless in this fight, seeing as to how you used all of your energy in your previous fight, you were still recovering from it.

That's when something came hurtling towards you, causing your eyes to go wide as a yelp of surprise came from your mouth. You quickly scrambled to get out of the way of the object, which smashed into the spot where you just where not two seconds beforehand.

You darted to a different spot, finding cover behind a large building piece that was still intact. Once you caught your breath, you looked over the rocks, only to find the Troll throwing large rocks and building parts at Terrador, who seemed to be struggling to get out of the way of all that was being thrown.

'Why can't I help him?' You thought hopelessly to yourself as you seen him dodge another attack. 'Why can't I be strong?'

It was strange, there were no whispers in your head this time, nothing trying to get you to fight, just silence. It was almost as if... it was angry at you for not using its power to fight Spyro. But, that can't be right. Right?

'That's just fine with me. I can do this on my own, I don't need any help from the Voice. I don't need help from anyone.'

Just as you said that, out of the corner of your eye, you seen a group of grublins beginning to crawl out of the ground behind Terrador, which he didn't notice from being distracted by the bigger opponent in front of him.

After hiding your crystal somewhere safe... yet again, as quietly as you could, you began to creep towards the grublins that seek to attack Terrador from behind, using the rubble as cover to get closer to them all.

But it seemed that the Troll spotted you, and just as you were about to lunge at one of the grublins, a shadow encases your form, causing you to look up and gasp.

Without thinking, you try to use Shadow to slide out of the way. Only instead, a sharp pain stabs your lungs and heart as you gasp for air. And in your delay, the Troll punches you across the courtyard and into a wall, where you drop to the ground with a thud.

"(Y/n)!" Terrador yells out when he seen your body go flying into a wall, and as he begins to run towards you, he sees the Troll begin to walk towards you as well.

Without a moments hesitation, he changes his direction and throws himself onto the Troll's back and begins to bite, rip, and tear away at the back of its neck. He had not seen the grublins, and could not figure out why you had all of a sudden decided to try and fight. And since he didn't know about the grublins, he didn't see them making their way towards your fallen body, to busy trying to rip apart the Troll.

You stare ahead, feeling extremely pissed off, not noticing the group of creatures making their way towards you as you felt your broken body beginning to mend itself back together, starting with your leg.

Why does this always happen? Why can't you just be able to help without getting in the way? Why do you always end up being the one to get hurt?

It was really starting to piss you off.
