"Hey, are you alright?" Kyle asked with some concern as Livana finally met him where they'd begun hunting undead together the other night. Though now she had multiple scratches on both her arms and legs with a large bruise on her left cheek.

"About as well as I could be after surviving that." She sighed. "Morgan might be loud and arrogant, but he has the strength to back up anything he might threaten."

"They guy might as well be a monster himself." Kyle replied. "I mean, I've seen my brother and father do similar things, but I don't really classify them as human so they don't count.

"It sounds like we have similar family issues." Livana laughed quietly to herself. "Both my brother and sister are excellent summoners and are prime candidates to be the next dark lord. My brother can summon dragons and my sister can summon wraiths... My parents just see me as pathetic seeing as I'm stuck with slimes."

"You can say that again, every member of my family if famous for one way or another. My mother and my sister are two of the best mages in the kingdom, and my father and brother some of the best warriors while I didn't even have a class at all until a few days ago." Kyle admitted. "I was the embarrassment to the Grandell family before I finally got to the facility."

"Then I would say that I am the same that you were before you got here, though I'm afraid I'll never get my family's respect no matter how hard I try." Livana laughed to herself. "At times, I think that I'm only deluding myself that I can ever be a dark lord. When someone like Morgan can defeat me so easily..."

"That's only for now, isn't it?" Kyle asked, making Livana raise her eyebrow at him. "I mean, no matter what class you are or what you can summon, you can always get stronger, right? Your slimes might be weak right now, but depending on that 'sub-class' or whatever that Mr. Noyal was talking about, you could get pretty powerful yourself, couldn't you? Especially if your slimes get more and more corrosive. I mean, just look at what I can summon. Right now I can summon twenty-eight goblins and gremlins at a time, but if you could summon that many corrosive slimes, then you would effectively have summoned a moving lake of acid between yourself and your opponent. And that's just from summoning alone. I doubt even dragons would be able to survive that if they get completely covered. And who knows what combinations you could use with both of your classes combined?"

"I suppose that's true. Though your little army of minions wouldn't be able to stand a chance then." Livana laughed.

"Nope, so then let's get going." Kyle stated as he started walking away.

"Going? Where are we going, and why do I have to come?" Livana asked as she started following him.

"To kill more undead, where else would we go?" Kyle asked. "You want to get stronger as soon as possible, right? Trust me when I say that I know the feeling."

"I don't remember asking you for help though." Livana stated dryly.

"You don't have to. A proper general makes sure that his dark lord is strong enough to take care of themselves. And even if you're only a candidate, that means that I still have to help you, right?" Kyle turned around and asked with a smile. He never would have imagined that he'd meet someone with the same circumstances as him at this place, and he was glad to have found her.

"I thought you said that you would only serve the next dark lord and not the candidates?" Livana asked in an amused tone.

"Did I say that? I can't really remember." Kyle joked.

"Or perhaps you're attempting to hatch another idiotic scheme." Livana laughed. "But regardless, I'm not going to miss out on the chance to better herself, so you'd better get to work, Mr. General."
