"So... can you three please explain one thing to me?" Facility Six's headmaster asked in a calm tone before he stood up from his chair and started pacing around the room quickly with his actions betraying that he wasn't calm at all. "Not only did you enter the grand tomb directly outside of the facility, which you were all told was restricted on your first day of classes. But then, you proceeded to destroy all of it's guardians before finally murdering one of the most respected summoners ever known to the guild!"
"He was already dead when we got there." Morgan shrugged innocently, and Kyle buried his head in his hands as he guessed that the fact that the man was a lich didn't quiet count as him being 'dead' yet.
"He was a hero to our cause, a man who survived several confrontations with not Enmit's forces, but the demon king's as well!" The head master yelled at them. "He was quietly serving in his retirement while still helping the facility by guarding it and helping to train our next generation of summoners... and what did he get for it? A group of overly arrogant psychopaths coming into his chambers and impaling him to the wall! On second thought, maybe you're not psychopaths... Perhaps, instead, you are all so weak that you just couldn't stay conscious enough through the lessons to even hear the rules?"
Flinching slightly, Kyle cursed himself for not paying attention to the facilities rules on his first day of attendance. He'd been so shaken up about the facility's true purpose that he hadn't even paid attention to the first lessons, and now he was going to pay dearly for it. And Morgan and Livana as well were going to as well...
"That man was a respected summoner?! He attacked us almost as soon as we entered his chamber!" Livana said angrily. "And what kind of 'respected summoner', or general for that matter, loses to three freshmen summoners who haven't even been taught how to do their second summoning spells?!"
"Mr. Noyal did explain to us how to cast the second summoning spell." Kyle whispered in Livana's ear. "You were already unconscious for that part of the lecture."
"..."
"Therein lies the problem." The headmaster spat. "If you three had been here any longer, I could freely execute you for what you have done or perhaps have the kingdom press charges of murder, which would lead to the same result. But seeing as you haven't even finished your first week of lessons yet... it's the embarrassment of the entire guild!"
"I've fought far stronger foes that that lich. If he was a respected member of the guild, then it's already an embarrassment!" Morgan replied, and the headmaster slowly turned towards the beast man with a stare that could have frozen the sun.
"You should know that you had nothing but luck on your side, young Crenshaw. Tiril has been providing his minions to help new summoners train themselves for centuries, and the only reason that you three prevailed was because you caught him at his weakest moment!" The headmaster yelled as he leaned over his desk for added effect. And Kyle wanted to run away as Morgan suddenly sat up from his chair and leaned over the desk as well with his confident grin pointed now at the furious head master.
"I could have crushed him at any time I wished, whether he be in his prime or not." Morgan said slowly. "And if you keep insulting me like this, I will show you that I can defeat you as well!"
"You brat..." The headmaster actually laughed slightly to Kyle's surprise. "For the headmaster of Facility Six to fight a freshmen? You haven't earned the right to even challenge me, even though that battle would be over in an instant in my favor. I've trained in this class for my entire life while you're still wet behind the ears! I have a far higher chance of becoming the next dark lord compared to you, so you must earn the right to face me!"
