Filming for the survival show we will be on will begin quite soon, so PDnim has been talking to us about various things we should know before it airs. Today happens to be one of those days where PDnim wants to clarify things with us.
"I want to be honest with you three and make sure you are prepared for what may come," PDnim tells us as we sit down across from him.
We all nod, signaling for him to continue.
He glances at us with concern, "Your group is really unconventional, and that is not a problem for the company, but it could take a toll on you and your success. Specifically, your ethnicities. None of you are Korean, and although there are foreign artists, they are not typically your races. Suwei, being Taiwanese, will hopefully not face too many hurtful comments, but you two, Riley and Nyla, may have struggles for being Caucasian and Middle Eastern."
"Thank you for the concern, PDnim," Suwei starts, "But I think we can handle the hateful comments we may get."
PDnim gives us a small smile, "I am quite confident you will handle yourself well with the media, but I'm more concerned about Nyla. All three of you have the talent: There is no issue regarding that. However, Korea does have a value for pale skin, and since Nyla does have a darker tone, she may face struggles throughout her career. The company will do their best to handle this if you guys debut, but I just want you guys to be aware of how the public may react."
"No worries, PDnim, we will stay positive through hurtful comments. Thank you for telling us," I tell him with a smile. Although I have to admit, his point is very valid. I could easily be unaccepted by the public the moment our show comes out. Hopefully Riley and Suwei at least get positive feedback.
"Good. Let me know if you ever have concerns," PDnim says, "On a more positive note, we have to decide a name for the show. Any ideas?"
