The MC counts down from ten to end the voting session and then allows PDnim to take over.
"I could see how badly you wanted the stage with three to be the best," PDnim starts, "And it did have great energy. It is clear you three feel more comfortable with each other. That being said, based on skills, it was not the best performance."
I can feel my pulse quickening at each word he says.
PDnim glances down at his notes, "I'll start with the solo and duet performances. Suwei, you have a great stage presence, and I could easily see you being successful on your own. I was pleasantly surprised by Nyla's solo performance. Maybe it is because you made the song, but it matched your vocals great. Although, I think you and Riley work well together. Nyla and Riley are both a bit shy on their own, but as a duo, you create the same energy Suwei has on her own."
Glancing at the girls, one on each side of me, I notice their conflicted expressions. They are glad to hear the pretty positive feedback but sad to see that PDnim is probably favoring splitting us up.
"Finally," PDnim pauses, "The group performance. Your skills are not well expressed as a group. I don't get the feeling that Suwei is in charge of dance, Riley is in charge of rap, and Nyla is in charge of vocals. It seems as though you all hold back while being in a group. You need to find the balance between showing your talents and not taking over the stage. However, as I said before, the stage of three looked comfortable and energetic, grabbing the audience's attention."
The MC interjects, "Before PDnim states his decision, let's look at the voting results."
Behind us, the screen displays the results of the voting. Percentages of each result are given, first in general terms.

PDnim lightly grins at the results and comments on them, "I'm curious as to which duet and which solo people wanted."
"Let's take a look," the MC says, turning his attention to the screen.

Turning back to the audience, the MC narrates, "Those are interesting results. I wonder what the solo results will be."

"I have to agree that Suwei would make the best soloist while Nyla and Riley would make the best duet out of these options," PDnim notes.
The MC faces PDnim, "So, what are you thinking so far?"
PDnim thinks before speaking, "The majority of the people want them to debut as a trio. However, I think another good possibility is a duet and a soloist. If I were to debut Suwei as a solo artist and Nyla and Riley as a duet, the three of them would still get the chance to debut, and they would probably perform better."
I lightly grab Suwei's arm on my right as I notice her breath catch in her throat.
"Does this mean you have made your decision?" The MC asks PDnim.
"I have," PDnim turns to face us, "Considering everything, it would be the best strategy to debut you as a solo and a duet."
The three of us look down, the sadness quickly engulfing us.
"However," he says, making us all look up in his direction, "This isn't just about strategy. It is also about pursuing your passion and being happy while doing it. With that in mind, I want to give you guys a chance as a trio. You should enjoy making music, and you clearly have the most fun when you are all together. With that said, I will be debuting you as a group of three."
Our sadness is immediately replaced by smiles as we gather in a group hug.
"We did it!" I cheer.
Suwei laughs, "I knew we could."
"I can't believe this," Nyla smiles.
The MC catches our attention as the crowd simmers down, "Firstly, congratulations! Secondly, now that you are confirmed to debut as a group, have you considered any group names?"
Suwei calms herself and holds the microphone up, "We've talked about this, and we decided to go in the spirit of our show name, '321,' and name ourselves '341.' In English, it would be said as three for one, signifying that we are best as one."
"I think that's a fitting name," PDnim smiles, "Congratulations. I'm excited to see what you three will do."
