Filming for episode one ends, so we exit the room we just performed in.
"You guys did well," Jaebum tells us.
We lightly smile in gratitude, but our anxiety over the solo mission clouds the atmosphere.
Mark, Jinyoung, and Jaebum lead us to their practice room where we keep talking about what happened.
"Trust us: Just because you got criticism doesn't mean you did bad. It was your first performance in front of PDnim, and he knows that you guys are new to this world," Jinyoung comforts us.
I thank him but add, "We're not that sad about the first mission. We expected criticism, and the comments will help us improve. The issue is that we have to perform solo."
"And we have to perform what we are worst at," Nyla points out, nervousness clearly evident in her tone.
Mark pats her head, "Consider it not your worst, but your least best."
She sarcastically replies, "Thanks. I feel so much better."
Standing up, Jaebum claps his hands together, "Well, sitting around isn't going to help with anything. Let's get you guys practicing."
"Where do we start?" Suwei questions him.
"Riley, you'll be with me for vocal training. Suwei, go with Mark for rap lessons. And Nyla, Jinyoung will help you with dance," Jaebum explains.
The three of us look at him skeptically, but Jinyoung and Mark stand up as well, gesturing for us to follow them.
I follow Jaebum into a room with a piano while Suwei goes with Mark to a different room and Nyla stays with Jinyoung in the main practice room.
"What did PDnim specifically say about your singing?" Jaebum asks me.
I recall the notes PDnim gave me at the filming, "I need more vocal range, and I have to be able to hold notes."
He nods, "Let's start with some vocal exercises."
Jaebum teaches me different techniques to help with my singing, and I practice by singing some parts of songs while he gives me feedback, allowing me to adjust and better that verse.
As Jaebum helps me, some staff file into the room with cameras. Remembering that we will now have cameras filming our practices, I suddenly feel a bit self-conscious. All the viewers of this show are going to see my mistakes.
Jaebum seems to notice my worries as he places his hand on my shoulder to comfort me, "Don't worry. You're doing great."

"It's starting!" Nyla gets Suwei and I's attention while plopping onto the couch.
We join her, grabbing some snacks along the way.
Today is the big day: Stray Kids 7 or 9 Live Broadcast. It's the final mission to decide the debuting group. We're pretty confident they will debut with all members, but just to make sure, we had to watch this.
On the TV screen, a voice says, "Today, the group called Stray Kids will have their final members announced."
"Don't fail us, PDnim," Suwei tells the screen, stuffing popcorn in her mouth.
First, the performances with seven members occur, and PDnim compliments some of the members.
"No, buddy, you're supposed to dislike the seven members. Compliment the nine members when they perform," Nyla gives the TV a thumbs up.
The current votes are revealed, and 96% of the viewers wanted nine members.
"I will fight that 4% that wants seven," I assure.
Nyla nods, "I'm pretty weak, so I'll just cheer from the sidelines."
The nine members perform together and 3RACHA is positively credited for their production skills.
After all the performances, the votes are still 96% for nine members in the group.
PDnim spends time thinking over what his decision will be. The three of us lean towards the TV screen, awaiting the results.
"Although there were less mistakes with seven members," PDnim starts to tell the boys, "There's something great about all nine of you together. It's this energy that isn't there with only seven. You still have a lot of training, but that being said, I've decided..."
"Don't pause for dramatic effect!" Nyla pouts.
Some time passes, and PDnim returns to what he was saying, "I've decided that Stray Kids will debut with all nine members."
The boys run to hug each other on the screen.
"Yes!" the three of us cheer, high-fiving each other.
After the show ends, and the hype settles down, Suwei pulls out her phone, "We should congratulate them."
We don't have a groupchat with all of them, so we messaged the one groupchat we do have with some Stray Kids members.
