Emma POV

Emma had to admit, Diana’s cooking was absolutely delicious. “Maybe you should have some cake?”

“Oh no thank you, as wonderful as it looks though, I don’t think I can eat another bite.”

“Okay but it will be your lost. Once the pack gets here it’ll all be gone?”

“I’m sorry, the pack?”

Diana frowned at her a little then Alex burst in. “Are you ready to go to your room Em?”

“Yeah, I guess I better. It was nice meeting you Diana.” Diana smiled and waved as they left the kitchen. Emma could feel tension rolling off of Alex. She touched his arm. “Everything okay with your dad?”

He looked at her. “Yeah, it’s fine. I was just in thought.”

“Hmm, so is there anything I can to? We could play that game again and you can tell me some more about your really hot night.” They both laughed. He felt better just doing so.

“I’m telling you Emma, if you tell anyone about that you’re going to pay.

“I won’t. It’s just sad to see you looking that way.” He smiled.

“So you were checking me out?”

“No! I was… I was just worried because you were so quiet.” He felt his heart swell at the fact that she cared enough to worry. They stopped before a big door. “This is your room.”

“He swung the door open and she smiled. She wasn’t too worried about material things but this room was lovely. “It’s really huge.”

He laughed. “Yea, I thought you would prefer it since you’re giving a lot up for us.”

“It’s fine Alex.” He shut the door behind him and said. “Shall I give you a tour?”

“A tour?” She looked around finding that the room was like a miniature apartment.

“Okay.” He grabbed her hand and she couldn’t help that feeling she got. It started in the pit of her stomach and made its way throughout her body.

“This is the walk in closet.” He pointed off to a door on the left. “Here you have a small kitchen, fully functional. Follow me.”

She laughed. “I don’t have a choice when you’re holding my hand.”

 “Do you mind?”

“No.” he watched her for a moment and she cleared her throat. “What’s in there?

“The bathroom and a balcony that over look the forest and lake.”

“Ooh a lake. That sounds peaceful.”

“It is. I go there a lot to think.”

“You think?”

He chuckle. “I do?”

“I thought you had all the answers.”

“What made you think that?”

“You just seem like the type.”

“I don’t know if that’s an insult or not but I like that you have faith in me.”

He was close now and she could feel her back against the wall.

“Alex I…” He touched her lips.

“What are you afraid of?”

“What?”

“You said in the truck that you were afraid but you didn’t really clarify it.” She looked down at her shoes but his fingers lifted her chin so that she was looking into his eyes. How can a girl think while looking into the bluest eyes?
