Rightfully Hers

Chapter 13

Emma awoke feeling refreshed. She smiled remembering the night she shared with Alex. Looking over, her face fell seeing that he wasn’t there. She listened and could tell that he wasn’t anywhere in the room. She looked over to see what time it was but stopped when she saw the card and a single rose on her night stand. She picked up the rose and smelled it. Then opening the card she read,

Dear Emma,

I’m sorry I couldn’t be there when you awoke but Alpha duty called. I had an amazing night and I’m counting the seconds I can make it back to you. I know its short notice but you’re meeting the rest of the pack tonight. Don’t worry; they’re going to love you.

Ps:  I have a surprise for you.

Emma smiled and read over the letter again. She never thought she could feel this way about a guy. She suddenly wondered if Alex had done this kind of stuff for Victoria. “Babe you okay?”

She could hear Alex in her mind. “Yes I’m just thinking.”

“About me I hope.”

“Yes it’s about you.”

“Is it something I should be worried about?”

“No, now get back to what you were doing Mr. Alpha.” He chuckled.

She got out of bed and ran to take a shower. Afterwards, she decided she would head down to the kitchen to see what Diana was doing.

“Good morning Diana?”

“Morning Emma, I was starting to wonder about you.”

“Oh.”

“How have you been, your practically glowing.”

Emma felt her face go warm. “Thank you. I just got a lot of rest.” That was a lie. Her and Alex had made love most of the night. She thought about it. “Emma.” Alex’s voice entered her mind again. “What?”

“You know what.” He chuckled. Oh no, had he caught her reminiscing about their night together? “Sorry.”

“It’s fine babe. Here’s a few from me.” Several images crossed her mind and she coughed.

“Are you okay?” Diana asked.

“I’m fine.” Diana was still looking at her in a concerned way.

“Do you need some help?” Emma asked because she was sure the woman could tell what she had been thinking.

“Are you sure?”

Emma nodded. “I like cooking.”

“Well you’re welcome to join me.” They chatted for a while and Diana was able to tell her a few things about wolves. She had also indulged in a few stories about Alex that had her laughing.

“What time is it?” Emma asked.

“About 4:15.”

“I think I’ll go take a nap before dinner.”

She headed upstairs and soon she was lying across her bed asleep.

“Emma?”

She opened her eyes to see Alex smiling down at her. “What time is it?”

“5:15. Take a shower with me.”

She blushed. “Alex?”

He smiled. “I promise I’ll behave. I just had a long day and I want to hold you but I also really need a shower.”
