Emma POV
Emma wasn’t sure what she should wear. She had tried on five different dresses before she settled for a simple black one. She sighed looking at her reflection in the mirror. She looked nice. A knock on the door made her jump a little. “Just a sec.” She wasn’t even ready. She grabbed her robe and put it on. Running to the door she swung it open. She smiled as Bradley stood there with a bouquet of roses. “From the alpha, he said he’ll be late but that he can’t wait for your date.”
“Thanks Brad.”
“How are you feeling?”
“You know you’ve asked me that every time since I came out of my little coma?”
“Sorry, old habit. Why aren’t you ready?”
“I will be so….” She shooed him away. He chuckled before disappearing out the door. She ran to put the flowers in water then to the mirror putting the finishing touches to her image. Now she was ready and more nervous than she had ever been in her life. She sat on the couch and waited. A knock at the door made her smile this time. She opened it her breath catching in her throat. Alex stood before her looking yummy. Well that was the only way to describe him. He seemed to have an equally impressed look on his face. “You look gorgeous Emma.”
“Thanks, you don’t look so bad yourself.”
“Should I come in or…?”
“No, no, we can go, just let me grab my purse.” She ran back to get her things. She took a deep breath then walked back to the door. Alex held out his arm for her to take it. They walked down the stairs and to the car. Soon they were driving down the highway to their destination. She had never been outside her room since that horrible day and the fact that this was all new to her had her nerves in a jumble. “You okay?” Alex asked with concern in his eyes.
“Just a little nervous, I haven’t dated since my junior year in high school.”
He chuckled. “You don’t have to worry Em, If anything I should be the nervous one.”
“How so?”
“I’m the one who has to impress you.”
She smiles feeling herself relaxing against the seat. “So where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise.”
She gave him a look. “Don’t worry, you’ll love it.” She trusted him.
Her mouth was gapped open when they pulled up to an extremely fancy restaurant. She felt so plain and out of place compared to the women she saw entering the place. Her door was suddenly opened and a man was holding his arm out to her. She took it and then Alex was taking her hand. They walked up to the place. Emma looked confused when he walked past the tiny booth and the man there checking reservations only nodded to him. He held her hand as he made his way through the restaurant. She didn’t miss the eyes on them but more importantly the women eyes on Alex. She was surprised at the overwhelming jealousy she felt.
