Chapter 14

Emma slept alone that night. She kept thinking that at any moment he would barge back through the door and apologize but that moment never came. Sleep claimed her first. When she opened her eyes she felt her heart drop from seeing that she was still alone. Where had Alex gone? She sent her a thought. “Alex, where are you?”

She waited a moment but still didn’t get anything. Oh great, now he was ignoring her. She got out of the bed and made her way back to her room. She almost forgot her worries at seeing Adam asleep on the chair and Andrea snuggled up next to him. That’s so sweet. She tried to be quiet as she made her way to the room but she stubbed her toe on the end table causing her to curse loudly. Her friends both were watching her but when they realized their position, they sat up putting as much distance between them as they could on the little love seat.

“So did you guys have an eventful night?” They looked at each other and shook their heads.

“Well neither was mine.”

“Aw Alex didn’t last long huh?” Andrea punched him in the arm.

“What happened Em.”

“I don’t know? I asked if he could change me to a wolf and he went all ….” She stopped when she noticed her friends watching her.

“What?”

“You did not ask him that Em. “

“I did and so what?”

“So what? Do you know how dangerous that would be for you?”

“Yea, you can’t ask your mate to do that to you. It’s sort of a last resort.”

“You guys sound just like him. Maybe I should apologize to him but how?”

“I know. Let’s go buy so sexy lingerie.”Andrea said.

“I’ll go if you’re trying it on.” Adam got punched again for that one.

“You girls are so abusive.”

“And you’re a perv.”

“You weren’t saying that last night Andy.”

“Shut up.”

“You shut up”

“No you…”

“Guys….”

They looked at her. “Come on Emma, I’m taking you shopping. Girls always get their best ideas then.” Emma tried to reach Alex once again but still no luck. She ran to shower and soon they were heading away from the pack house.
