M I A

A few months had passed since the day that I woke up. And ever since, I felt empty inside.

Days after I got tested on and verified that my state was healthy and stable, the police department had paid me a visit. And it wasn't as if I had even a glimpse of who I was or what happened, but yet they persisted in investigating me.

They asked me about my family, my relatives, the place where I used to live in, what happened a few days before the accident and about the accident. Everything that may lead to the perpetrator. But I just answered every question they passed me with the same line, "I don't know."

They got no information out of me and I received nothing from them. The only thing that they kept saying was, "Try to remember."

As if I haven't thought about that!

Later on, I then got transferred from my hospital room into a more spacious and private one, where no nurses or doctors could come strolling in whenever they wanted to.

Apparently, the hospital was connected to a care-house nearby and I would be staying there until they figured out what they would do with me. There was a lot of people in the care-house. They consisted mostly of old-aged seniors and young orphans. I got to see them all at dinner time where we were told to gather in the main room to eat and to socialise. But of course, I didn't comply with the latter. I just ate my fill and headed back to my room afterwards.

My room had a bigger and more comfortable bed than the previous bed I had. I also got a closet and a small bathroom. They gave me clothes, snacks and books to keep me entertained. Who knows for how long I would be staying here...

Ever since I was able to walk again, I've been booked with appointments for physical activity to gain back my strength and build. I've also been told to head to the gym for me to build my muscles back. I instantly agreed, without giving it a second thought.

And trust me when I say that it was hard because my whole body was injured and had previously relied on the casts. But now that a couple of months had passed, you could say that I was slowly getting back on my feet by myself. Yet that didn't mean that I was all sunshine and rainbows inside.

I removed the rubber band from my hair, letting it cascade down to my waist. As I was facing the mirror, I stared at the girl on the other side for a few minutes. She had pale skin and matching dark dark hair and eyes. Though her hair was long, it was dead. Her face was defined, with prominent cheekbones and jawlines, however not by nature, but because she was so skinny. Just looking at her made me feel extreme pity.

What deed did she do that was so bad, to end up here? What situation did she put me in?

I let out a long breath, the hot air blurring the mirror. And when I wiped it with my hand, the same girl appeared again. The image of her pale white face which looked like she had seen a ghost, stuck in my head. How much did she scare people when she passed by...
