M I A

I flipped yet another page and continued to read quietly. I had an iced coffee can next to me and I was planning to stay up a bit late to read this new novel I borrowed.

After I went to the library to get some supplies, I walked towards the novel's section and picked out a few books. I was impressed and excited to explore all the genres!

I remember when I was back at the house care, I've only read a couple of books, but somehow I found myself hooked. Maybe the idea of an overall written story with its plot already planned got me tangled. Wishing my life was the same instead of living with no purpose.

Speaking of plots, at dinner, I caught no trace of Julia, which seemed weird because she has been avoiding coming to the cafeteria the past two days. Although I had no interest in checking up on her.

After Ashton's sayings, I began doubting Julia and whether I should stay friends with her or not. But then again I think, she could be telling a twisted truth.

Either way, it could wait.

Currently, I was reading a book at which I started a few hours ago that quite related to my life. It was a mystery I planned to discover tonight. For all I know, I had been dying to read it.

I took another sip of my coffee and turned into another page, feeling goosebumps all over my body as I almost reach a cliffhanger. Yet, before I can find it out, a knock echoed around my silenced room.

My heart jumped as I instantly snapped my eyes towards the door. It was past midnight.

Who could it be in a time like this?!

Perhaps Julia?

I folded the corner of the page and I closed the book before I jumped out of the bed carefully trying not to make a sound. And on my tiptoes, I walked up to the door and crouched down, trying to look through the keyhole.

Unfortunately, I saw nothing but nothing.

I stood back up and stared back at the door. Maybe if I don't answer, they'll leave?

I waited a long minute suspiciously wondering if the person on the other side gave up. Yet before I could make up my mind with such a conclusion, the door knocked again, only much louder.

Wait, could it be Sebastian?

I took a deep breath and stepped away from the door. Surely, I wasn't planning to open it or even ask who's knocking it. All I could come up with was a psychopath wanting to murder me.

Which was kinda possible considering this place is full of psychopaths.

"Mia!" all of a sudden I heard a voice yell whilst whispering, though it was muffled. "It's me, Ashton."
