I let out a breath for the hundredth time as I rest my head on the table. My sigh seemed to echo in the huge lounge which looked even more enormous now that it's empty. Even though it was past midnight, the lights were still on and lighting up the whole place. If it weren't for the wide windows that were on the top of the walls — giving us a glimpse of the dark sky — you wouldn't be able to tell that it was night.
Even though it was dead silent and clear, I found myself quite the opposite, for my mind was spinning with thoughts and emotions. After I ran away from my dorm, I had nowhere to go. I found myself in the elevator struggling to decide which floor I should press on. I thought about going back to the party, but I needed space from everyone and peace, so I ended up going to the ground floor.
I strolled through the halls for about fifteen minutes, relieved to see no guards were around. But then I caught the cafeteria still lit up, so I entered it and took a seat in the middle.
