'(A/N) Hey guys, I just wanted to say that the street name I used in this chapter isn't actually a street (as far as I know) in Michigan lol, I just made it up for time purposes. Okay, enjoy!'

CHAPTER 19
Sweet, warm sunlight poured through the windows of the small bedroom, awakening me to this brand new day. I fluttered my eyes open lazily, as I was still trying to wake up. My eyes cleared in seconds, though, and I could instantly tell that Harry was gone, since the chair he kept watch in last night was empty.
I swung my legs over the bed, my feet landing on the thin wood floor, and made my way over to the bedroom door. I still had my awkward snowman pajamas on, but I didn't care. My goal right now was to go and find Harry.
I cracked the door open and strolled silently to the living room where I found Gems cleaning up food from off the little dining table sitting in the corner of the living room; something I had also not noticed last night due to the intense darkness inside the cottage.
"Morning, Charley." She smiled at me as she carried dirty plates into the kitchen to be washed off.
I gave a weak smile in return. "Hey Gems. W-Where's Harry?" I rubbed my eyes.
She laughed. "Is it funny that I knew you were gonna ask that?"
I rolled my eyes. "Kind of I guess. But seriously, do you know where he went? I remember him saying he was gonna keep watch on that little chair in my room last night, but I assumed he would be sleeping by the time I woke up, so-"
"Whoa whoa whoa. You assumed he would be sleeping when you woke up?" Gems interrupted me, annoying me a little.
I nodded.
"Why?" She asked, turning on the sink as I tilted my head to the side in confusion.
"Um. . . why wouldn't I? Everyone sleeps." I answered casually.
"Ghosts don't sleep, Charley. He was watching you the whole night."
That made me shiver a little, but I also sort of liked the fact that Harry was protectively watching me throughout the entire night; even though it was also a little creepy at the same time.
I didn't answer her, but instead just stood frozen in place with my lips slightly parted. It wasn't long, however, before Gems turned off the sink and rounded the corner over to me.
"Did I scare you. . . by telling you that?" She almost whispered to me, giving me a look of pure concern.
But I quickly shook my head and smiled at her. "No, no. You didn't scare me at all. I sorta saw that one coming I guess." I chuckled, and it was true. I really did.
Gems laughed. "And what exactly do you mean by that?"
I sighed. "Well, I mean, you guys are ghosts. Not humans; yet. So I probably should've suspected that you guys don't sleep or whatever."
Gems smiled even wider, something she seemed to do a lot. "Ahh. I see." She said, looking down at the ground.
"So, um," I awkwardly began, "Any clue as to where Harry went?" This was the second time I've asked now.
Gems looked up at me, her eyes bright. "Oh, uh, he left for the king's son's house a few minutes ago. After he ate breakfast."
My mouth parted slightly as Gems continued.
"And yes, ghosts do eat if you're wondering." She chuckled.
I crossed my eyebrows at her. I wanted so badly to question the whole eating thing, but I pushed that aside and focused on more important things to say to her. "So, let me get this straight: he left, without telling me first? Not even a small goodbye?!" I had probably said that a bit too harsh. I should actually be used to him doing this by now, since this is definitely not the first time this has happened.
