CHAPTER 7

"What?? Is something wrong?!?" Uncle Hendric came running over to where I was, extremely worried.

He was probably finished with the customer by now, then.

But I didn't reply. All I could do was stare in front of me with my mouth wide open, still in shock of what I had just seen.

What did I just see?

"Charley, baby! What's wrong? Why did you scream?!"

I screamed?

Suddenly, Uncle Hendric gently yanked me from my position and turned me directly in front of him, so that I had to look at him.

"Answer me baby girl!"

"It was.. It was nothing." I finally choked out, my voice just above a whisper.

But he didn't buy it.

"You're telling me that you screamed because of nothing, yeah?"

I nodded, nervous inside.

"I don't believe it."

"Well you have to, it's the truth."

"Why would you just scream like that? Out of nowhere?"

I hesitated for a moment. "Because.. Because I got a text message, and the vibration from my phone scared me." It was the first thing that came to my mind.

Uncle Hendric looked at me skeptically for a moment before replying. "A text message made you scream?"

"Yes, now can we change the subject please?"

He slowly nodded and looked down at the glossed brown floor, almost as if he wanted to say something more; but couldn't, and just dropped the subject like I had asked.

After a few awkward moments of silence, I decided to speak up. "Um, Uncle Hendric, can I have a five minute break?"

He quickly looked up at me, eyes wide with surprise. "But you haven't even started working yet!"

"I know, but I need a little break first. You know, to calm down a bit after my little fiasco a minute ago." I waved my hands in the air a bit to add exaggeration.

He sighed. "Fine, but uh, only five minutes, yeah?"

I nodded and smiled. "I won't be a second late."

The cool breeze felt nice on my dried and worked up skin. Almost like a wave of freedom. The ground was still wet from the past rain, which I didn't mind.

Clouds hovered over me, and I feared it would rain again sometime soon. So I wouldn't be out here for very much longer.

As I walked down the sidewalk, I began thinking about what had just happened back in the comic shop.

Did I really see Harry? I mean, I couldn't have. That would be impossible since what I saw was only a mere transparent object; not even an object.

Maybe it was just my mind playing tricks on me again.

I decided to shrug it off as I knew for a fact that I didn't really see Harry. I just thought about him too much, which obviously made my mind go crazy into me thinking that I actually saw him standing at the comic shop in a transparent form.
