HARRY'S POV
"God, NO!" I screamed, throwing the note down on Charley's bed.
Why did my father have to do this? Trick the only women I love, just so he could waste their time so that he wouldn't be hunted down right away?
Tears welled up in my eyes and my hands balled up into tight fists. My knuckles were turning pale white, but I didn't care. I was angry with my father for everything he had done. From burning my mother alive to deceiving two very important women in my life.
What the hell did I ever do to him that made him hate me so much?
Just then, I felt my phone vibrate in my jean pocket.
It was Gems.
I quickly answered the phone. "Gems!"
"Harry! Are you back at the cottage yet?"
"Yeah, and I got you and Charley's little note." I scoffed.
There was a brief pause before Gems spoke again. "Charley had a panic attack when she saw Casey alone in the woods, so now I'm taking her to rescue her best friend. It's alright, Harry, we'll be back soon and-"
"Gems, turn around and come back. Now." I interrupted her sternly.
Gems gasped a little. "Harry, didn't you hear what I just said? This is Charley's best friend we're talking about here-"
"And I understand that. Look, Gems, just trust me when I say come back. . . Now!" I was slowly losing my patience.
She took a deep breath. "Alright. Hold on."
I heard Gems place her hand over the phone with little whispers following afterwards.
Then her hand was removed and the phone was brought back up to someone's ear.
"Harry, we're not turning around." Charley's voice was clear and serious over the line.
I growled. "Charley. . . Please. Just listen to me. You need to-"
"No, Harry! I'm not just some girl you can order around! I have rights too you know! My best friend is being held captive by her false boyfriend and I need to go help her!" She was half screaming and half on the verge of tears; I could hear it in her voice.
I sighed. I had more patience when it came to Charley and I think maybe that was the reason Gems handed her the phone. "I'm not ordering you to do anything, love. I'm just telling you that it's safer to turn around."
"And why exactly do you think it's safer to turn around and leave my best friend in terrible hands?!"
"Because it's all just a set-up!" My voice cracked as I yelled that into the phone.
Now the other line was silent.
"Charley?" I said after a few minutes, worried that she had possibly hung up.
But she didn't, because I heard her clear her throat. "W-What do you mean it's all just a set-up?" She barely whispered.
I sighed. "My father is using Zayn and Coon to distract us from actually going and getting him."
She took a deep breath. "Well, I guess. . . that makes sense."
"Yes, it does. Now will you come back to me? Please?"
There was another pause where whispers followed, and then rustling, meaning the phone was being handled by someone.
"Harry, you come out and get Charley." Gems said with a stern voice.
I crossed my eyebrows. "Why can't you just bring the both of you here?"
"Because I still want to go and check this whole 'Casey' thing out. Without Charley."
"What?" I heard Charley gasp in the backround.
I shook my head. "Whoa whoa whoa, Gems, you are not going anywhere alone."
"Yes I am, Harry. I'll be perfectly fine; I can protect myself."
"Why do you want to continue with dad's little set-up? It's just a dumb game he's playing!"
"I know that but there's something fishy about all this. Fletcher did call Charley telling her that Casey had been gone for a while now and the fact that we're seeing her in the hands of dad and his men means she could be in terrible trouble. And I'm most definitely not going to sit back and watch her di- get hurt." She quickly corrected herself for the sake of Charley.
I sighed heavily. "I can't lose you, Gems. I don't want to risk it."
"Come on, Harry. I'll be quick."
I bit my lip. I really didn't want to lose her, but since she was being extremely stubborn about it, it looked like I had no other choice. "Fine. How far out are you guys?"
"Only fifteen minutes. Thank you, Harry!" She squealed happily into the phone.
I chuckled. "Whatever. See you ladies soon."
And I hung up the phone.

CHARLEY'S POV
Once Gems parked on the side of the road, I slumped back in the passenger seat and turned my head to look out the window while I waited for Harry.
I was a little irritated with Gems for her sudden mood change with wanting to continue checking out the Casey situation, but I didn't let it get to me. I knew she just wanted to keep everyone safe, but I felt like she wasn't worried about her own safety.
"You alright?" Gems whispered, breaking the silence and startling me a little.
I nodded and turned my head to look at her; yet I still kept it lazily leaned up against the back of the seat. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking."
"About what?"
I sighed heavily. "Are you even the slightest bit concerned for your safety, Gems?"
Her jaw dropped as I said the words. "Charley, of course I am! Why on earth would you even think I wouldn't be?!"
"Well you seem so confident in going to check out the whole Casey situation, but I don't think you realize just how dangerous it can be!"
Gems laughed. "Charley, it won't be dangerous. It's a set-up for crying out loud."
"Then why in the world do you want to go?" I was starting to yell now, so I decided to take a couple of breaths to calm myself down.
She took a deep breath. "I just. . . don't trust the whole situation. It's hard to explain."
I nodded. "Okay. I trust you, Gems. Please don't do anything stupid."
She laughed again. "Trust me; those days are over."
I laughed with her.
Until my phone rang.
And when I looked at it, I saw that it wasn't Harry.
