Hawk and Sky followed behind Gwennie and White Feather. 

They walked through the snow, none of them saying a word. 

Gwennie smiled and turned to Sky. "Say, wanna learn to hunt?" Her tone was disgustingly raspy and low.

Sky smiled. "Yeah! Show us!"

Gwennie crouched down and slammed her thin body into Hawk. 

Despite her weight, Hawk yowled in pain and jumped toward Gwennie as soon as he got back up, raking his sharp claws across her neck.

Crimson blood dripped onto Gwennie's red bow, and she stumbled up.

"I was only playin'..." Gwennie growled at Hawk. "Don't fuck with me."

Hawk's ears pulled back, but White Feather sighed. "Yes, Hawk, please do not mess with Gwennie."

Hawk was surprised at White Feather's response to that. Did she not see Gwennie jump on top of him?

Hawk awkwardly continued walking, Sky not saying anything.

White Feather smiled. "Can you two smell the lovely snow? It's one of the calmest scents in the world."

Hawk sniffed. "Only slightly." He said. 

White Feather looked down at the snow and pressed her paw into it with a crunch. "Don't worry, it'll smell nicer once you get used to it."

They walked in silence until Sky spoke up. "You know, White Feather, Holly Scar once told me something."

White Feather's ears perked up and she turned to Sky, an unreadable expression on her face. "Yes?"

Sky looked down at the snow nervously. "She said that she knew you when you were.. A baby. Isn't she your daughter?'

"I'll tell that to you in private." White Feather sighed.

Hawk laid his eyes on a patch of ice. "Ice! We should go play on it!"

Sky smiled. "I've never seen ice before!" She ran towards the ice excitedly.

Sky and Hawk slid across the ice, giggling and kicking snow at each other.

"Ice is so fun!" Sky chirped, slipping on it and then laughing.

Hawk smiled at the sky, stepping back on the ice. Until he stepped on Gwennie's tail.

Gwennie hit her jaw on the ice. "Ack!" She choked out.

Hawk turned around. "O-o-oh! I'm so sorry- I!"

Gwen snarled at Hawk. "He tripped me!" She shouted at White Feather.

White Feather gave Hawk and angered glare. "Hawk."

Hawk looked down sadly. "I'm sorry." He said.
