"If you don't love yourself first, you can't love others."
To be honest,
I personally think,
That might be a lie for some cases.
You can love others and you don't necessarily need to love yourself first to truly love another person.
I just think that it may be worse for you, to not love you first
Because the difficulties you may have or feel, will probably be quite bad
I just talk from experience,
That's actually always the only way I talk
And if I'm being honest,
I've never truly been in love
And the only crush I've ever had
Was a celebrity crush
So it's on your own to decide if you want to listen to me or not
What I know is that you actually can love others even without loving yourself first
Why?
Because it's as simple as asking yourself for a few seconds
Do people with low self-esteem love their parents?
Do people with depressions or eating disorders love their friends and family?
They truly do.
So why would it be, that persons who do not love themselves, wouldn't be able to love others
Some may think
"Yes, but that quote is meant in a romantic way"
I'm sorry but
Aren't all kinds of love
Still love?
You may think I'm stupid or something like that, but if you think about it, it is as simple as that
And I have the feeling that we as humans are able to give all you have to someone
Without caring what might happen to you
Because you don't always have to love yourself first to love someone else
So please don't let such a stupid quote define if you can love someone or not
Love what or who ever you want to love
Just because someone wanted to write something like that doesn't mean it's true
I think you truly can love and it doesn't matter if you love yourself or not
I guess some persons wouldn't get hurt in a relationship if they loved themselves first, but I think that does not change the fact that you can love
That's at least what I think
