I brought Theo into the living room so I could breastfeed him his breakfast. I had woken up before Alesha did as she had another rough night. The twins had been rib kicking her and she was still nervous about giving birth, resulting in an almost sleepless night for her. Alesha didn't have that long to wait until her due date, just four weeks left.

I loved this time of day when it was just Theo and I awake in the house. I could watch as Alesha and our two other children got ready for the day while I nursed. I pulled my pyjama shirt up enough for Theo to latch onto my nipple and start sucking. He was almost fully weaned and I only breastfed once in the morning. I was starting to produce less breast milk, a sign my body was weaning Theo off of me.

Soon he would be drinking formula or juices with some sort of breakfast in the morning instead. Theo placed his palm on my breast as he fed so he could get a better latch. It did hurt sometimes to breastfeed now because Theo was teething. He already had four teeth and two more were coming in.

I cradled Theo in my arms while he nursed and that was how I was when Alesha got out of bed to start making breakfast. She smiled when she saw me breastfeeding.

"Morning," she said, passing by me to go to the kitchen. She stopped to peck the top of my head.

"Morning. You ready to be doing this soon?" I asked, grinning. Alesha's breasts were large now to accommodate nursing two babies and they sat like a shelf on her baby bump. The twins were going through their final stage of growing in the womb and they were dropping down to prepare for their birth, causing Alesha discomfort when she walked or sat.

"Yes. I want them out so I can have my body back!" Alesha replied. "You should get the girls up as soon as Theo's done."

"I will," I promised. We had worked it out that I would wake Lexi and Azura up while Alesha made breakfast and while they were eating she would get ready for the school day. I would get a shower after I ate while Alesha was getting ready to bring the girls to nursery and school. I would bring Theo to his nursery while I was at work and I would be home by three to work from home for two more hours so I could be home to watch the girls if Alesha had to stay late.

We usually had a busy schedule during the school week and it was much more relaxed on the weekends. Theo stopped sucking and he raised his head up. Alesha went into the kitchen and I followed her after Theo burped.

I placed him in his high chair to watch Alesha cook breakfast and make lunches for the girls. Theo had a fascination with Alesha moving around, most likely because of her baby bump. Theo giggled as Alesha tried to get the peanut butter out of one of the cabinets, her stomach grazing the countertop.

The girls and Alesha had left so I was alone in the house with Theo. I put him into his bouncer so I could get a shower quickly and get dressed. I was working from home today though because Theo had a check up today since he was eleven months old now.

I showered and dressed. Theo reached up to me from his bouncer to tell me he wanted to be picked up. I picked him up out of the bouncer, setting him on my hip. He babbled at me and tried to play with my necklace. I gently pulled the necklace out of his little hands and placed it so it went inside of my shirt.

"You ready to see the doctor today, buddy?" I asked, bouncing Theo on my hip. I went out to the mudroom and buckled Theo into his carseat so we could head to his check up.

Today had been busy for Alesha and I. We sat in the living room, watching t.v. with the girls and Theo was crawling around, playing with his toys. He sat down, facing the front of the couch and reached up.

Alesha nudged me with her cold foot to look down at Theo. He had pulled himself up to standing. Theo had already been standing on his own but he had his hands on the edge of the couch cushion, like he was going to try to help himself watch.

"Mummy, is Theo trying to walk?" Lexi asked, looking down at her little brother and got off of the couch and kneeled at the end of it to catch Theo if he fell down.

"I think he is," I replied. Theo moved his hands along the couch cushion and took a tentative step and then another. He took a couple more and he fell into Lexi's arms.

"His first steps!" Alesha crowed. Theo had a smile on his face, proud of his accomplishment.

"I know!" I replied. I took Theo out of Lexi's arms and cuddled him. "You're becoming a big boy now and Mummy doesn't want you to yet."

Alesha laughed. She knew the feeling of children growing up too quickly. Azura and Lexi had started reading short words and thus reading books with them. "Neither does your Mumma yet, Theo! You're not allowed to grow up until your mummy and I are ready for you to."

"Does that mean me and Lexi can't grow up too?" Azura asked, grinning.

"You two are growing up too fast so no, you can't grow up anymore. You have to stay four and six forever," I replied jokingly. Alesha laughed and she rubbed her stomach, a small look of pain flashing across her face quickly. "Are you alright, babe?"

"Yeah. I'm just having Braxton-Hicks contractions. The twins will probably come soon then," She replied. Alesha rubbed her stomach and she smiled as she did so, feeling the babies kick and seeing the kick distort her stomach slightly.
