6. Greetings

Hi,

For greetings, basically Indonesian have the same way to say hello with American. It just different spell but with same pronounciation.

Hai = Exactky has a same pronunciation as Hi

Halo = you just need to change the 'E' from Hello

Selamat pagi = Good morning

Selamat siang = Good afternoon

Selamat sore = Good evening

Selamat malam = Good night

Selamat tidur = Sleep tight

Mimpi indah = Have a nice dream

Selamat tinggal or Selamat jalan = Good bye

Sampai jumpa = See you again

Sampai bertemu nanti = See you later

Apa kabar? = How are you?

A : Hai! (Hi!)
B : Hei! Apa kabar? (Hey! How are you?)
A : Baik. Kamu? (Good. You?)
B : Aku baik. (I'm Good.)

we also geetings friends in the same age with their name.

•Example conversation

A : Nina!
B : Hei! Rani?
A : Apa kabar, Nina? (How are you, Nina?"
B : Baik. Kamu gimana? (Good. How about you?"
A : Aku pun baik. (I'm also good.)
