Hi,

This is the third chapter that posted today for my triple updates. I want to share with you how to borrow and lend something in Bahasa Indonesia.

Borrow and lend in Bahasa Indonesia means Pinjam as a verb.

Borrow which means to get something from someone with the intention of giving it back, in Bahasa Indonesia can be saying as Pinjam or Meminjam.

Lend which means to give something to someone for a short period of time and expect to get it back, in Bahasa Indonesia can be saying as Meminjamkan.

It's important to remember the affixation me- and -kan must be adding.

Here's some examples for you :

1. Pinjam/Meminjam

A : Can i borrow your pen?

A : Alaska, bolehkah aku pinjam pulpenmu?

A : Alaska, boleh pinjam pulpenmu tidak?

There's two types of sentences of borrowing something. Look at the suffix -kah can be removed or it can be replaced with the question tag Tidak.

B : Can i borrow your shoes?

B : Bolehkah aku meminjam sepatumu?

B : Boleh pinjam sepatumu tidak?

2. Meminjamkan

C : I lend my pen to Rani

C : Aku meminjamkan pulpenku pada Rani

D : I lend my money to him

D : Aku meminjamkan uangku kepadanya

So, it's end up for this chapter. If you still confused with Pinjam and Meminjamkan feel free to ask me through DM or comment. Semangat!
