Anima's P.O.V.

---

Being both human and demon has its downfalls especially when it comes to the fact that you're own kind kick you out and send them into the human world. But still, it's a major advantage. That way you can get skills from both kinds and be prepared for whenever one decides make an attack on the next.

And that's we're preparing for at Shinsuke's Academy in the human world.

I was the new member, lucky me, so I wasn't quite excepted as yet. They made little jokes and comments about my small frame and how I could be a solider according to them but I ignored them all. If I can defend myself against a full demon when it's in rage mode, then I don't care what anyone has to say.

"So shortie."

I glanced up at the amused voice and met the face of a jock. You know those types, full of themselves. Feel they know everything. All of that.

"Where did you come from all of a sudden?"

"The neighboring city."

"Really? I thought that place was deserted."

I nodded slowly and he chuckled.

"I don't buy it. How does one small little girl survive for that long by herself them magically decides to come to us?"

I resisted the urge to growl at the ignorant question and shrugged.

"I'll be watching you newbie." He glared a little then proceeded to walk away.

I rolled my eyes, mumbling under my breathe, "Lucky me."

"Alright, everyone listen up!"

I held onto my sensitive ears and the shrieking sound of the woman shouting. Are these people always this loud?

"Today we're gonna do sparring. Matoi!"

I walked up and she stared at me.

"I don't know how you've survived for so long but I'd like to see a taste of what you can do. So, I'll be giving you a higher rank to fight than anyone else."

I nodded, feeling the urge to smile coming on.

Remember Anima, we're only sparring not fighting.

I exhaled and turned around, walking into the arena. I kept on chanting in my head that same line so I would go into my void, where no emotions are shown. I watched as my nail color turned white and sighed. I'm in my void.

I watched a man walk into the arena and groaned. He's huge which means he'll use force when he's fighting. I mean he was only wearing a pants which strained against his legs. And his chest and arm muscles were pulsing. Veins were showing. Ugh, those are the worst.

I took off my jacket and throw it aside. I began taking off my belt with my knives and he stared at me in disbelief. I walked to where I threw my jacket and bent over to place my belt down but felt my sensors suddenly tingle. Something's coming.

I dropped the bag and quickly slid out of the way of the man who punched the wall by my stuff.

The woman's voice ran through my ears and I cringed a little.

"Stay on your toes Matoi, when you're in battle no one lets you know when they're ready to fight."

In case you semi blind, I dodged it.

I straightened up and the man turned around smiling.

"Nice moves, for a newbie."

I tilted my head at the comment and he began charging again. You know, the typical "AHHHHHHHHH!!". Yeah so predictable.
