IT was past midnight-- the world was quiet and the sky was dark with few stars twinkling. Yuna was having serious difficulties about staring too much at Yuzuru's face. The earlier hours had saved her. They were talking so it was okay to gaze at his undeniably good looking face-- maybe stare a little longer. But now that they're quietly treading the path that lead towards the cherry blossoms park just at the foot of Mt. Gwanaksan, she was very careful not to get caught stealing glances.
The streets that led to the place of their destination was quiet but their exchanges soon filled it after. Situated in just beyond Seoul National University's main gate, the park was a sight to visit in Gwanak-gu at Spring time. Sakura trees were in bloom at this time of the year. They would not have ended there if Yuzuru had not mentioned about bees and wondered how sakura trees in Seoul differ from Sendai.
Hence, at 1 AM the two went to the park by themselves. The trees were indeed in bloom and the whole surrounded by pink thriving color of cherry blossoms. The stream that run directly from the mountains shone brightly from the reflection of the moon. The path beside it led to the trail.
The two decided to settle in one of the benches. Although it was spring already, the chilly winter still hang by the air. Yuzuru had to remove his jacket and hand it over to Yuna to keep her warm.
Yuna got the ramyun pack from her plastic and crushed it using her hands. Yuzuru stared at her funnily.
"What?"
"You should have tried out for martial arts or even boxing. You sure got the fist for those sports."
She ignored his teasing and opened the package instead. She offered him her staple midnight snack.
"You're seriously eating that?" Yuzuru asked curiously.
"What? Are you judging me now, Hanyu?"
He shook his head gently before reaching for the package. "I can only imagine how your mother would throw fit when she learns this unhealthy lifestyle of yours." he muttered as he tossed the bite-size piece he picked from the pack.
He knew how much effort Mrs. Kim gave in food preparation. She was always dedicated in serving her family the best and freshest meals. Learning that her firstborn ate dry instant noodle would surely be an insult to her.
"Would you tell her?" she asked as she munched the noodle.
"Of course, not!" He said. "She would beat me for tolerating you."
Yuna laughed at him. They knew each other too well. The two continued eating the noodles.
“Aren’t you sleepy, Hanyu? You like sleeping a lot, don’t you?” She said noticing the dark shade under his eyes.
“You should have invited me to your house if you wanted me to sleep.”
Yuna wondered why he was so obssessed with her house.
“Ha ha ha!” she laughed sarcastically. “Funny how you are a poor homeless thing right now, ice boy.”
“I’m not homeless.” Yuzuru stressed and beamed. He really was not. Sitting beside her after all these long years made him feel at home.
“Whatever you say,” Yuna said rolling her eyes.
Just then, a group of hikers passed by them.
"Where are they going?" Yuzuru asked curiously following the passerby.
“Mt. Gwanaksan view deck or the peak itself. I heard that the sunrise view from there is amazing.”
“You heard?” Yuzu said. “You haven’t seen it yet?”
