Chapter 3- Leaving?

Erika's POV-
I unlocked my phone to see what Alissa texted...

Alissa: Hey I have a HUGE problem.
Erika: What's up Liss?
Alissa: remember when i told you that my stepdad bought me a car?
Erika: Yes... This morning?
Alissa: It was a gift because, I'm moving..
Erika: Moving? What do you mean??!? You can't leave? Wait are you going far?
Alissa: Does California sounds far?
Erika: CALIFORNIA? We live in Ohio. WHATS IN CALIFORNIA? Wait are you actually serious right now.
Alissa: Unfortunately. My mom just texted me.
Erika: When are you leaving?
Alissa: Friday.
Erika: Liss):

*Class dismissal Bell rings*
Outside of classroom

Tessa: Omg that was so boring. I don't think i can start all my days like that.
Erika: Alissa, you should tell her.
Tessa: Huh? Tell me what?
Alissa: *Looks at Chance* I can't right now, or at least not with him around.
Chance: Fine, I'll leave. I'll see you at lunch babe *Kisses and hugs Tessa*
Erika&Alissa: BABE!?????
Tessa: Oh yeah, Chance asked me out this morning. It was super cute. Anyway, what did you wanna tell me?
Alissa: This convo about the two of you isn't over but i do have some bad news.
Tessa: Bad news? What's wrong?
Alissa: I'm moving T. I'm moving to California.
Tessa: WHAT? What do you mean your moving?
Erika: This Friday too!
Tessa: WHAT THE HELL ALISSA
Alissa: Guys, shhhhhhh! I don't want anyone to know yet. We can talk more at lunch. I have to go.

Lunch time.
Jakes POV-
I sat at the Lunch table next to Alissa, and everyone else sat next to us.
Jake: So hows everyone's day so far?
Tessa and Erika: *At the same time* Bad. *Everyone looks in confusion*
Chad: *Cuts odd girls and getting attention off them* I got in trouble for staring at the Teachers boobs while she was talking.
Anthony: Woah, Why'd you get in trouble?
Chad: She said "Mr Tepper, Please pat attention" And i replied with "Oh honey your girls AINT hit" Now i got a Friday night detention.
Chance: Well that sucks. Hey I'd sit it out with you, but My girl and I have plans Friday night.
Kade: Your girl? Who might that be??
Jake: He's bluffing, he hasn't had a real girl since.... EVER
Chance: Tessa would you like to tell them or should I?
*Everyone looks at Tessa*
Tessa: Chance and I are dating.
T10: REALLY? AWE
Kade: I love it.
Chance: Yeah, Jake now we can go out on double dates and stuff.
Alissa: Uhhh, yeah.. About that.. I have something i have to tell you guys.
Jake: What is it?
Alissa: I'm leaving to California Tomorrow.
*Erika and Tessa turn their heads and look*
Erika: YOU SAID FRIDAY?
Tessa: YEAH WHAT DO YOU MEAN TOMORROW?
Jake: Babe, what? Are you serious.

My heart sunk into my chest and I wanted to cry, but didn't. I grabbed Alissa and walked outside the Cafeteria.

J- You're leaving? Tomorrow????!?
A- *frowns* Yes. I would've told you sooner but, I just found out this morning. My stepdad is leaving for a new job, and he starts tomorrow.
J- How did Erika and Tessa know if you supposedly "found out this morning" *says in sarcastic tone*
A- I told them after first period, and i told them Friday, so that they'd keep their mouths shut until I was ready to tell everyone.
J- and what about us? What's going to happen between us?
A- Jake, I won't expect you to stay with me. I want you to move on and be the best person you can be.
J- what are you saying? You don't even want to try a long distance relationship? Because i want you Lis. I want to be with you.
A- Jake we aren't going to work out, we just aren't. I'm sorry. Now i'm leaving home after homeroom, so that i can pack. I'm leaving for Cali in the morning. So i think we should end things here. I want to leave on good terms with you, because i love you Jake.
J- *Drops head down and starts to cry a little* If that's what you want Alissa. I have to respect that.
A- Thank you Jake. *Hugs him for a while and then kisses him one last time before going back to the cafeteria*

I was devastated so I left school right after Alissa went to the Cafeteria. I didn't want to see anyone and hear anything. It was all so unreal. I couldn't believe it.

Erika's POV-
When Alissa got back, I sat next to her and asked her more about California.

Erika: Liss, we are going to miss you.
Alissa: I'm going to miss all of you, but let's not make this sad. I want to leave on a happy note.
So let's go to homeroom, and make it the best damn time, we've ever spent together!

We all left to homeroom and had a blast. The teacher was pretty chill. She introduced herself and said that we basically wouldn't start learning anything until Thursday so, we chilled and bonded over the next hour. After class we all said our goodbyes to Alissa and wished her the best. Jake wasn't here, which surprised me, but i thought that they might want alone time later tonight. So i didn't pay much attention to it.

After school was out, Tessa and I went to Cheer practice and Coach Ray had exciting news.

Coach Ray: Okay, so since Alissa isn't going to be here this year, I have chosen to replace her, with someone that i think is perfect for the Job. Wouldn't you say Erika?
Erika: OOOOOOH YEAH! I cant wait to start working with this girl.
Coach Ray: Tessa! How would you like to be a new Co-Captain with Erika?
Tessa: OMG OMG! Really? thank you so Much?!!!!
Coach Ray: Okay we don't have much to do this week until Wednesday. So real practice won't start until then. Go home girls.

Right then I got a text from Jake. Sort of unusual. But i unlocked it and read the message. My eyes widened as i finished reading

SORRY AGAIN FOR CLIFFHANGER!!!! But Three chapters in one night. Hopefully this hard work pays off. Haha. Thanks for reading Ily ❤️
