I laugh, shaking my head as I shrug innocently. "Let's get a drink." He suggests as he takes my hand and leads me to the kitchen, releasing it carefully to get us drinks from the red punch bowl set upon the counter.

"Millie! Oh my God, I didn't know you were coming- I would've come sober then." An abrupt voice calls as I follow the sound to my lab partner, himself.

"Jacob, hey! You're.. drunk?" I question as he approaches me with a red solo cup in hand, his hair damp with sweat and wild from dancing.

I push his shoulder gently, testing his balance as he leans back before coming back forward.

"Well.. more or less." He simplifies, shrugging. I raise a brow at him as I laugh out of humor at the boy.

"Did you come here with anyone?" Jacob queries curiously, his sentence slowing when Finn comes up behind me and hands me a drink.

I gaze over my shoulder at Finn as he nods a greeting to Jacob as he raises a freshly lit cigarette to his lips, inhaling the harmful smoke.

"Guess that's a yes." Jacob mutters quietly as he presses his lips together in disapproval when a cloud of smoke floats his way from the parting of Finn's lips.

"Guess so." The curly haired boy assures calmly.

"You know that shit isn't good for you, like it can kill you, man." He informs warningly with little to no concern.

Finn shrugs, not phased at all by his truthful facts as he takes another hit from the cigarette.

"I'll just go, you two seem to have a good time keeping each other company." Jacob insists as his eyes linger on me for a few more moments before he finally walks away and towards the blaring music by a band called, 'The Wrecks'. I recommend them, good shit.

"You like him?" A familiar voice asks flatly, slightly muffled by a red solo cup. I furrow my eyebrows quickly at the mesmerizing addict that is Finn Wolfhard.

"No, I like you." I admit simply. He abruptly does a spit take with the cup still raised to his lips.

The liquid splashes onto his upper lip before he takes the back of his hand and wipes it across his mouth, taking the alcohol with it.

"You act like you're shocked when we just made out it the middle of a parking lot." I state in suspicion. He coughs, sighing as he catches his breath.

"No.. I just- I realize how fucked I am when this deal's over. You may be annoying sometimes, but I don't want to hurt you. Shocker, isn't it?" He scoffs while setting down his cup and folding his arms across his chest.

I take this as my chance to convince him.

"Then don't, why can't we cut off the deal? If we both want to be together why does there have to be this deal that somehow has enough authority to stop that? It's just a stupid deal, Finn. This doesn't have to end."

He presses his lips together in thought as he avoids eye contact. I allow my words to settle in the air as I stare at him with hope flowing through every fiber of my being.

Though that hope crushes when the music quiets down slightly and Jack Grazer's voice comes on from a microphone.

"Hey, ladies and gents, how's everyone doing tonight?!" The crowd roars with cheers and yells as drinks are raised in the air.
