Everything went pretty much back to normal.
Betty and Ellie didn't talk much about the Black Hood the days that followed that awful night. But truth was, they both felt like it wasn't the end of it, and perhaps that feeling came from all the events they had experience – and it was just because of how traumatic it had been – or maybe they were right, and Mr. Svenson wasn't really the Black Hood.
Archie was closer to Eleanor than ever tho. It was like the terrifying feeling of losing each other had brought them closer together. They both had nightmares about it the first nights, and others who followed.
"It's nice." Ellie tightened her grasp around Archie's waist, "To see you with the guitar again."
"It makes me feel..." He searched the right word, while looking down at her, "normal."
She smiled at him, and continued to walk with her boyfriend. But that was something about the redhead that just wasn't right, and Ellie could feel it.
"What is it... that's bothering you, Arch?"
Archie stopped, and turned to face her, swallowing before speaking, "Remember how I told you my Dad was with problems in paying the hospital bill?" She nodded, confused, and he continued, "Well someone payed for it."
"Someone...?" Eleanor narrowed her eyes, "What do you mean someone?"
"It means it was an anonymous donation." He told her, "Did you tell anyone about it?"
"No, anyone. Not even Betty." She replied.
They stood there, looking at each other, trying to figure out how they always ended up in the middle of mysteries needing to be solved. So, they tried to solve it, as always.
Ellie wondered who could have money and interest on paying for Fred Andrews' bill, and it didn't take her much time to figure out who that could be.
"Did you..." She paused so she wouldn't sound very jealous, "Did you tell Veronica?"
"What do you mean?" Archie frowned.
"It means you and her were pretty close in the past couple of weeks." Ellie shrugged, not making a big deal out of it, "You could have told her."
"I did." He thought about it, "But what... do you think she told someone?"
"I think she payed for it, actually."
"Why would she do that?" Archie went back to walking to school, "What would she get out of it?"
"If she did it..." Eleanor sighed, "I think she just wanted to help."
As soon as they reached school ground, their eyes met Veronica in the middle of the hallway. But that was a conversation that didn't call for Ellie's presence, so she let Archie handle it and made her way to the student's lounge.
"Hey guys." She greeted.
"Ellie, hi." Kevin smiled at her.
"So, how is everything around here?" She sat down next to Kev.
"Everything is... fine." Betty smiled at her sister, widely.
Right after, Veronica and Archie walked into the lounge. They were smiling and Ellie found herself smiling at them too – they must have figured it out.
"Students of Riverdale High, here is the director. Emails have been sent to your parents, By effected immediately, Southside High was shut down. The students will come for the school in the district."
