"Archie," Ellie grabbed a hold of his arm. "What's wrong?"
"What?"
"You're a little off." She explained.
"No, it's just that..." Archie looked behind her once again, and she felt the need to follow his gaze. "Those men were at Hiram's poker night. I heard something –."
Eleanor was curious, but mostly worried about the whole thing but when Veronica approached them and interrupted them, she wasn't sure she would ever get to hear the rest.
"Betty, Archie. Mind if I still my guardian angel to meet my abuelita?"
"Oh, me?" Ellie replied in surprise, glancing at her boyfriend. "I don't think –."
"Come on, she's absolutely excited to meet you, E." Veronica told her. "I told her about how much you helped me, and she's really grateful. Come on, let's go."
"I –."
"You should go." Archie smiled down at her. "It's ok."
"Fine." Ellie sighed, and put herself on her toes so she could kiss her boyfriend's lips. "We will talk about this later, ok? Don't go anywhere."
"I'll take care of him." Betty promised with a smile.
Veronica grabbed her hand, pulling her. "Come on."
They walked through the party, until they stopped In front of a good-looking woman.
"Abuelita, esta chica es mi ángel de la guarda. Ellie, recurde?"
"Hi." Ellie kindly smiled at the woman. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you."
"Oh hello." She stood up with a huge smile. "Veronica es muy afortunada de tenerte."
"Gracias. Pero yo soy el afortunada."
"Well, I have to give her back to her boyfriend now." Veronica chuckled at her friend's rusky spanish. "Te veo, Abuelita."
"She's a very nice woman, V." Ellie commented, when they walked away. "I am very happy for you, and thank you for the bracelet."
"I wanted us to have something to connect us."
"It's beautiful, really." She told her.
"So..." Veronica coughed slightly, and stopped before they could make all the way back. "I couldn't help but notice you and Jughead aren't on the best terms. What's wrong?"
"Um, Southside business I guess." Eleanor shrugged. "No big deal. Really."
"You're miserable when you are fighting with Jughead."
"I've been trying to talk to him, but he keeps avoiding me." She sighed.
"Why?" The raiven-haired girl worriedly asked. "What happened?"
"I don't know if it's his way of keeping me away from Southside or if..." Ellie hesitated before trusting her friend with the recent information. "Or if it's because FP let it slip that Jughead was in love with me before. He said I was Jughead's first love."
Veronica couldn't help but review her own conversation with Jughead a while back.
"Do you mind if I ask something?"
"I'm not gonna stop you."
"Was there anything there...?" Veronica had tried to read his expression. "More than best friends, other than brother and sister thing, did you ever had... feelings for Ellie?"
