I felt Soomin's breath hitch then she yawned. She rubbed her eyes then looked at me then smiled. I didn't smile back.

"Love, you're not telling me something." I said trying to keep my voice stable. She gazed at me with confusion in her eyes.

"Jungkook I-" She stopped mid sentence when I collapsed into her arms. I hugged her tighter than I've ever did.

"Don't leave me Soomin. Please. Tell me. I know you're in pain just tell me what can I do. Don't leave." I begged. I felt her breath hitch and she started sobbing.

"I'm so sorry Jungkook. I'm so sorry. I thought I could hide it. I didn't want Seohee to worry. I didn't want you to worry. I'm so sorry. I just wanted all of you to be happy." She said. She buried her face in my neck and started wailing.

Silence enveloped the surrounding. The words I wanted to speak were gone, as she wept in my arms. I don't know what I could do to help her.

I didn't want this.

"Look, you're going to get better okay? Seohee needs you. I need you." I said as I kissed her head. She exhaled as she gave in and relaxed.

Soomin's going to be okay. We still have time.

She still has time. She has to live.

For our daughter.

And for me.

--

"What do you mean the fairy princess is sick?" I said angrily on the phone. Rolling my eyes as I tied a pink balloon on one of the poles in our backyard.

It was Seohee's birthday. She's 5 now.

A year has passed. Soomin was, a bit better.

She had surgery. Which was successful. That was one of the most painful thing I had to go through. Watching her in pain.

I remembered Seohee crying in my arms that day. She was scared.

"Daddy? Is mommy going to be okay?" She asked as we were in the waiting room. I didn't have the words. I couldn't say yes. I couldn't say no. So I chose to not say anything.

But in a way, I'm happy now. She's fine. Soomin's okay.

But there was this aching feeling in me that tells me she's not.

I felt warm hands rub across my back as I perched on the stool. Didn't realize that the guy I was talking to already hung up on the phone.

"What's wrong?" Soomin asked me. She smelled like cake batter. She was baking a cake for Seohee.

"Apparently the entertainer we hired for Seohee's birthday, is sick." I groaned. I mentally kicked myself. I promised Seohee she would see the fairy princess.

"Well, we can just tell her-"

"I volunteer!"

Soomin yelped when Taehyung was standing just meters away from us. Not to mention the loud booming voice he had.

"This isn't the hunger games." I said. He laughed and sat down on one of the chairs outside our backyard.

"Well, you know I'm quite the entertainer." He winked. A fun idea popped in my head.

"You want to be an entertainer hyung? There's no turning back you know." I said. He smiled at me and nodded, unaware of the plan he was getting himself in.

"All right. Suit up. Costume is in the bathroom." I said. His eyes shifted into a wary and confused expression.

"What?"
