Raphael's POV
Simon and I went to see Izzy the morning after she returned home safely. She was then taken to the station by her father and brother. I had once had a thing with her, she was a stunning girl, but she had used me as I had used her. It wasn't healthy for either of us so we broke up. That was last year. Simon told me he had also had a thing with her a year before that. That had been a funny conversation, to say the least. It was a Saturday so we decided to go out to get something to eat at the local buffet.
Driving happily down the road, blasting the Rock Solid Panda disk he made, we got to the all you can eat at about six. It was relatively busy but that was expected. We were sat in the corner by a window looking out onto the city, bustling with late-night shoppers and people commuting from and to work. As we were about to get up and serve ourselves Simon waved to someone. I looked around and stared wide-eyed at Clary and Jace, the waitress led them to the table next to ours and I died a little inside. I wasn't a big fan of ginger snap or greasy boy but I had a reputation to uphold as the peacekeeper. I smiled graciously then headed to the Mexican section of the buffet and piled my plate high. I stress ate, it's a surprise I kept my body looking like it did.
When we sat down Jace and Clary sat in silence next to us. Next thing I know Alec and Magnus are seated next to them. Joy.
Clary's POV
I burst out laughing. Three dates were going on right now... and I was the only girl. It never occurred to me how gay our friendship group was. Simon watched Jace and me with curiosity and a little smirk playing on the corner of his lips. He looked at Raphael and Jace suddenly looked on edge.
"What's up?" I took his hand and his expression changed immediately.
"With me? Nothing, I'm fine." He smiled and tucked into his food.
I started to talk to Magnus and Alec, asking how their love life was going when I heard a loud splutter next to me and then Raphael choking. He went bright red and Simon rolled his eyes. he muttered something that sounded like 'there's really no need' and then handed his date a glass of water.
"What happened?" I furrowed my brows and Simon let out a low growl.
"You idiot! There was no need to be so extra, honestly!"
"He's in Narnia?? There's no way he is anything of the sort! You must be nuts, Simon!" Raphael glared at Jace and he was evidently sweating. "Both your exes are dating each other?? That's absurd!"
"What!?" I cried and looked over at chase who was on the verge of spontaneously combusting.
"Way to go Simon." He spat.
"You what?" Alec butted in and the whole situation was now a mess.
Turned out that Simon and Jace had had a... friends with benefits situation back in the day. They had agreed to pretend it never happened so Jace pretended to be oblivious to Simon not being straight and Simon pretended that Jace was straight. Alec was extremely annoyed and stormed out of the restaurant. Not before he threw a drink at Jace for being a liar, Magnus had given Jace his famous 'I'm ashamed of you' glare and had followed his boyfriend. I was gobsmacked and quite frankly had no idea how to process this information. I sat in silence and watched how it would end.
"I will be leaving now, Simon?"
"Coming dear." And with that they disappeared.
"I guess we should go too." Jace sighed.
"I'll take the bus." I replied bluntly and left him alone.
