"Why on earth did you want to mee-" an unfamiliar girl stopped in her tracks and stared at me. I stare back. I mean how couldn't I? She was beautiful. The way her reddish brown hair was curled at the bottom. She was absolutely perfect.
"Luke, here, wanted to meet in the basement. I don't know why though." Adelaide says breaking our intense staring contest. I know exactly why he wanted to meet here. Adelaide starts talking again. " Guys this is my best friend Payton. Calum, Luke, Michael, Ashton, Payton. Payton, Ashton, Michael, Luke, Calum." she says introducing us.
Payton. Even her name is perfect.
"Hey Payton." I say standing up, surprised I didn't stutter like I used to, offering my hand. She takes it and smiles. Her smile is amazing.
"Cold." she says looking at our connected hands. I pull away rather quickly.
"What?" Adelaide asks.
"His hand." she pauses. "It's cold."
Luke, Ashton, Michael, and I all exchange glances before Luke speaks up.
"Weird."
Yeah, it would be weird, if I was actually living. I'm dead and there's nothing I can do to fix that. That means that, even though I like Payton, we can't get any closer. If she or Adelaide found out, they'd go crazy.
"Anyway. Where are you guys from? I'm leaning towards Australia. No, wait, I'm certain you're from Australia." Payton says breaking the silence.
"There she goes again." Adelaide mutters.
"What Adelaide?" I ask.
"Nothing." she says. Payton gives her a look. I can't help, but stare at her, so that's exactly what I do.
"Mate, who are you staring at? Payton?" Michael whispers to me. I immediately stop.
"No, that would mean I like her and I don't." I say denying that deep down, a part of me likes her.
"Hey guys I have an idea." Ashton speaks up. This should be good. "Let's talk to," he pauses leaning in closer to all of us. "the dead." he whispers.
"No." Adelaide flat out declines.
"Come on it will be fun." Luke says trying to get her to agree.
"Fine." she grumbles.
This has to be Ashton's worst idea ever, considering we are the dead.
A/N: ayee a Calum point of view yay!
