My mom and I are sitting in the kitchen preparing dinner, by preparing I mean she is doing everything while I sit on the counter eating an ice cream.

"Honey will you get the door?" she asks.

"Get the door, no one kno-" I was cut off by knocking on the door. "How do you do that." I ask jumping off the counter and going to the front door. I open it to reveal a very tall attractive boy.

"Hi." I say looking up at him because he is so much taller than me.

"Hi." he replies.

"Can I help you?" I say after a few minutes of silence.

"I'm Luke." he says holding out his hand.

"Adelaide." I say shaking his hand.

"Honey who was at the door?" my mom comes in breaking the awkward silence.

"My, uh, mom sent me to welcome the new neighbors." he says awkwardly rocking back and forth.

"Oh thank you, how about you come in." my mom smiles. Always so polite that women is. It makes me sick.

"I actually need to be getting back. Nice to meet you Adelaide." he smiles.

"Yeah, you too." I say. I close the door as he turns to leave.

"He was cute."

"Mom!" I laugh.
