It was the next day, a Wednesday to be exact. Millie woke up to the sound of her alarm in a pile of sweat. Literally, she was sweating all over. When her mother walked in to check if she was feeling well enough to go into school, she immediately told her to stay in bed and got her some aspirin and a cold flannel before leaving for work, not forgetting to tell her to call whenever she feels like she needs to.

Although, Millie didn't. She didn't even feel like she had the energy to pick up her damn phone. In fact, she let it die even though the charger was already plugged into the socket right next to her bed.

She just didn't have the damn energy.

So, that Wednesday when Finn walked into school he wanted to see her. His hands were wrapped around his backpack, eager to maybe see her in the halls, or next to her locker.

When he realised that she wasn't going to be in by the time that they sat down together at their lunch table, he sighed in defeat. He hadn't realised that his heart ached with a low frequency hum as his eyes ached to see her. He wanted to feel that hum disappear as he hugged or saw her, feeling it slowly disorientate while he closed his eyes enjoying the magical fucking feeling of Millie Bobby Brown.

He snapped out of his daze when Caleb slammed his tray on the table opposite him, making him jump slightly at the sudden noise.

Millie woke up again, only for about five minutes before she drifted back to sleep again with a few tears escaping her eyes. They rolled down her cheeks leaving them a stained, rosy red as she buried her face into her pillow.

So when she next woke up, it was the next day. Well, Thursday night to be exact.

She still didn't feel all there, although she slowly peeled herself from her bed as she dragged her weak body into the bathroom, wincing at the sudden artificial light.

She wanted to gasp when she saw her reflection although she didn't because she simply did not care. Her features were paler than usual with dark circles occupying her under eye in the most natural way, even though she's technically been asleep for almost three days.

Her mouth felt like a dry desert as she turned on the tap and put her cupped hands under it before taking two long swings and repeating that exact step about eight times.

She then reached over to the shower lazily before flicking the handle up and stripping down, waiting outside the shower for it to heat up.

When she was done, she threw on some grey Adidas jogging bottoms and a spaghetti strapped vest and a pair of white trainer socks.

Then, her heart sank to her feet.

She felt like she wanted to cry. Her nose started to tingle and her chin began to wobble. She felt bad, she felt guilty that she missed that fucking date.

All she could picture was him sulking and thinking that she didn't want to go out with him, although it was the complete opposite.

After Millie texted Sadie and made plans with her for the next day, she pondered on calling Finn. Her finger hovered over his contact name as she ached to press it.
