As soon as Finn awoke, he felt content. His breathing was steady as his eyes squinted at the harsh sunlight that was shafted through the gaps in the dark curtains that dimmed the whole room.

He stretched out his limbs causing an inaudible sound to escape his lips. He looked over and saw that Millie wasn't next to him, although he didn't overthink it and knew right away that she was getting ready to spend time with her parents before her big party.

He got dressed, as he did he heard that the shower was turned on. He quickly texted her a message and then left, ready to plan the perfect night.

As Millie got out of the shower, her eyebrows furrowed at the loss of her boyfriend. She picked up her phone, smiling unknowingly at the simple message.

From: Finn

Gone to help Caleb, have a nice day with the folks. Love you x

To: Finn

Love you more gorgeous Xxxx

For the first time in a while, Millie felt like the luckiest girl in the whole world, she had everything she hoped and wished for.

So, when she heard her parents opening the front door, she smiled as she bolted down the stairs to greet them. She didn't even bother checking countless of birthday messages from other people.

Finn smiled while walking into Caleb's, which made Caleb suspicious.

"Hey buddy, how's the party planning going?"

Caleb raised his eyebrow, not moving an inch on his seat on the kitchen island. It was filled with different bottles of alcohol and different coloured cups, shot glasses and big fish bowls ready for later. There was also banners ready to be put up.

"What's going on?" Caleb questioned.

Finn looked at him like he was stupid, picking an apple from the middle of the kitchen table and took a big bite.

"What do you mean?" Finn asked, cocking his head to the side like a little puppy. The same goddamn smile never left his lips, though.

"You're never happy in the morning, you called me 'buddy' and you're walking like you've won a million dollars. You're really happy. What happened last night?" Caleb then stood up so he was eye level with Finn, looking him in the eye and inspecting for any signs of dishonestly.

Caleb was right, Finn was really and truly happy. Last night was amazing, he was so excited to see her tonight. His adrenaline was high, if he was sat down his leg would be bobbing up and down. As he was standing, he shifted on his heels and kept playing with his hair.

"Just had an amazing night, that's all."

"Ah." Caleb smirked, pointing his slender pointer finger at Finn before returning to his place on the stool. "I get it, well done my friend. Well done."
