if I love you was a promise
would you break it if you're honest?

thanksgiving.

It was a day to be thankful, a day to be happy surrounded by friends and loved ones while stuffing your face until you can no longer move your body.

Millie didn't see the fascination in it, though. Maybe it was because she was British or maybe it's just because she couldn't see the point in the holiday. It was an interesting one, for sure, and yes, it was nice to dedicate a whole day to be thankful for what they're blessed with but in Millie's eyes, there was just no point.

Which was why she was so hesitant accepting Finn's offer to have thanksgiving at his house this year. She attended the Wolfhard's last year, when she was so desperately looking for their approval when she was so innocently pining over their son.

She laughs at the memory, knowing how close to the family she is now, at least.

Yeah, she's just going to blame it all on the British thing.

A call snapped her out of her daydream as she dropped her pen on the notebook sat on her vanity in front of her, sliding answer with a happy grin on her face.

"Hey." She said softly, immediately causing goosebumps to arise on Finn's skin and even though thanksgiving wasn't until the next day, he was thankful she couldn't see him right now. He was and still is a love struck bunny.

"Hey babe." Finn replied, shuffling on the other end of the line which made Millie scrunch up her nose in dissatisfaction.

"What're you doing?" She asked, spinning around in her chair and standing up, pacing around her room.

"You sure you're interested?" Finn teased, causing a rise out of Millie.

"Consider my interests peaked." Millie giggled into the phone, making Finn nod even though he knew she couldn't see him.

Again, he was thankful for that.

"Well, I am just prepping the table for dinner tomorrow night."

Millie's excitement dimmed, shoulders slacking as she sat back in her chair and picked up her pen.

"You made my interest peaked for that?"

Finn rolled his eyes, more shuffling became clear from the other side of the phone.

"Hey, do you want to call me after you're done? I'm having trouble hearing you and concentrating?"

"No, give me one second I'm almost done." Finn said down the phone, the shuffling noise picked up before dying back down again. "Okay you have my full, undivided attention."

"I have nothing to say." Millie laughed, shaking her head as she scribbled some notes on the psychodynamic perspective in psychology. "You're the one who rang me, remember?"

"Oh yeah." Finn remembered, running upstairs and laying down on his bed. "I need to know if you and your parents are coming over tomorrow, my mom is going crazy about how many places she has to set."
