**ALYSSA'S POV**

"Mom! They're here!" Keith, my brother, echoed through the house. "The neighbors are here!"

For the past 2 months, my family and others who live on our block, have been waiting for the arrival of the new neighbors. They are from New York. My parents think they are from Long Island, but I think they're from upstate. Well, either way, they are here.

"I'm coming!" My mom rang, followed by quick footsteps coming from the stairs. She walked up beside my brother, who was peering out the window.

"You guys are such creepers!" I said, with a wisp of my new brown hair caught onto my face. My brother told me to shut the hell up, and then my mom told him to shut the hell up, and then he yelled at her, and then she yelled at him. I rolled my eyes and went upstairs to my room. As much as I hid it from my family, I wanted to see them just as much as they did. I looked out my window, where had a good view of across the street.

The house was beige with dark red shutters. They painted it while I was at Mag-, you know what I mean. Also, a strange car was parked out front. A few seconds later, a man and a woman walked out of the car, followed by a girl and a boy. The girl looked about my age. "New friend?" I asked myself. I scoffed at my own statement. "You don't have friends remember?" The boy looked only about a year or two older than me.

He was hot! Like, insanely hot. I mean, my face was smushed against the glass trying to get a better view. He was wearing dark navy blue jeans and a maroon flannel. His deep black, shaggy hair was pushed to the side. And man, he was tall! I quickly realized I was sweating and switched on the AC in my room, even though it was November.

It was weird though. He also seemed like a punk kind of kid. Those punk rock rebel boys never really attracted me before. But now? I don't who this boy was, but he really turned me on.

"Damn!" Was all I thought to myself. This kid was distant and sexy. But I didn't even know his name, besides the fact that he doesn't even know my existence.

He walked around to the trunk of his car. He opened it up and pulled out two wooden sticks. He then pulled out a round, flat pad.

"No!" I thought to myself. He's a drummer. My heart swelled. Is this what's it's like being a fangirl? Fantasizing about a male who doesn't know the first thing about you? Wow. "This is too much!" I said, gasping for breath and walking away from the window.

I fell back onto my bed. Still picturing the mystery boy, I let out a big sigh. I haven't been taking the time out of my life to even think about boys ever since the whole Shawn thing. I pushed that memory to the back of mind and locked it way. It was just too much pain. So, I gave up on that.

A few hours later of me being trapped in my bedroom, my mom called me downstairs. I got up and came down to the living room.

"We are going over and introducing ourselves to the new neighbors." Mom said sternly.

"No! I'm not doing that!" I argued back. "No way in hell!" She responded by my giving me her 'You have no say and we are going' look. "Ugh!" I screeched. I rolled my eyes and went upstairs.

I got into my room and locked the door behind me. "Okay," I told myself, "you need to go for that tumblr 'grunge' look." I barely had anything that fit that style, but I had to wear something for that mystery neighbor. After 20 minutes, I decided on my outfit. My gray beanie, my vintage Marvel Comics t-shirt, a camo flannel tied around my waist, my sheer black leggings, and my black combat boots. I've never gone for this look before, but I kind of liked it. It felt like I was wearing something that was eye-catching and attention-holding. It felt good.
