« Madi's Point of View »
I walked in my shared hotel room. Taylor was laying in bed, asleep. I figure he would be, it's 7:30am. I walked over to look at his face. He was wearing a white Magcon beanie that he probably fell asleep in. His face was swollen, and red. I really hope it wasn't what I thought it was.
"Taylor?" I said.
Nothing.
"Hey, Taylor," I said a little louder.
Nothing.
I sighed, kneeing down. I kissed his lips one time, and his eyes opened.
"Madi," he sat up, rubbing his eyes.
"Hey," I smiled, "we need to talk."
"Yeah," he said, blinking a little much. He was probably adjusting his eyes.
"So about you and Kristina," I said, "I'm not mad."
"You're not? Because you have every right to be," he said.
"I'm not mad."
"Madi, I understand if you are. What I did was wrong and I shou-"
"Taylor, do you want me to be mad?" I interrupted him.
"No, not at all," he shook his head.
"Okay, well you're probably going to be mad at me," I admitted.
"What? Why?"
"I'm not going to beat around the bush, because I know you hate that. Straight up, I slept with someone last night."
He was quiet. He didn't say anything.
"Like, you had sex?" he asked.
"Yes," I replied.
His eyes, that's what got me. His eyes had pure sadness expressed in them. Taylor never, I mean never, looked sad.
"I-i," he stuttered, "it's okay."
I was shocked, "Taylor."
"Yeah?"
"Are you- wait. Why is it okay?"
"I cheated on you, you found out. You cheated on me, and you told me. That's a bold move, but it's an honest move that I never would've made, because I would've been scared of losing you. You knew the sacrifice of losing me, but honesty meant more to you."
"I do care about you, Taylor," I said. "I care so much."
"I know the feeling," he responded.
"But where does this put us?" I asked.
"Maybe we need a break," he said.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Yeah, and you can still sleep in here. I'll give you the bed, and if anything I can go sleep with Carter, or in here on the floor."
"No, Taylor, you can take this bed."
"Madi, it'll be an empty bed because I'm not sleeping in it when you can."
I smiled, because even through this hell I put him in, he's still considering me.
"I still care about you," he said.
"I still care about you," I said.
He smiled and walked out of the hotel room.
The minute that door shut was the minute my smile faded and a tear fell down my face.
