We were all three waiting for Aaron. His plane was going to arrive in about 10 minutes. We'd been sitting in the Birmingham Airport for about 20 minutes, simply waiting on Madi's mom and dad coming to pick us up, and waiting on Aaron's plane. Madi's mom had said she'd be here when our plane landed, yet she wasn't. No surprise, though.
-----
Finally, both Aaron and Madi's parents arrived. They had an SUV that would 5 people. Madi's mom sat in the passenger seat while Madi's dad was driving, Madi and Taylor sat in the back seats, and I sat in the trunk with Aaron. It was a bumpy 30 minute ride to Madi's parents' house. I was texting Madi the entire time. It was night time and I was tired. I was trying to keep my eyes open.
"You can sleep on me if you want to," Aaron whispered, "I really don't mind."
"It's okay, I can stay up," I lied.
"No, you can't," he whispered again.
"No, I really can't," I whispered back, laying down and hearing him laugh.
I laid my head on his lap as he crossed his legs. He put his hand on my shoulder and I closed my eyes. After a few minutes, I was asleep.

Aaron's Point of View
Kenna was now sound asleep, resting in my lap. I placed my hand on her shoulder, and I heard her phone go off. Checking the screen, I saw it was Madi.
"She's asleep," I whispered.
Madi turned around and looked back at Kenna asleep. She smiled, "That's the cutest thing I've ever seen."
I looked at the sleeping girl, "She's the cutest thing I've ever seen."
Taylor turned around, "Aaron, you broke up with her."
"It was mutual," I said, "but you're right. I let it happen."
"Now, you're just best friends," he said.
"But I'm still in love with her," I said playing with her hair.
Madi smiled, "She still loves you, too, you know. She's just trying to distance herself.
"Yeah, I know," I said, "I just wish I could take it all back. I wish I had her back."
"You know she'd take you back in a heart beat," Taylor said, "so get her back."
"It's really not that easy," I retorted.
"How?" they both asked.
"I'll explain it later," I said. "I promise."
