As you were following Undyne to the stage, your heart beat started to quicken from every step you took. The crowd had quieted down as Mettaton walked onto the stage and not acting like the diva he is for once. You and Undyne went to the opposite sides of the stage, you knew that all of the Royal Guards were lined up by rank because Undyne was on the very end of the left stage and you were on the very end of the right. You stood up straight with your arms to your sides and looked at the crowd. Once Mettaton knew he had every monster's attention, he cleared his throat and spoke into a 1920's styled microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen i am glad you all could make it here. But before I get ahead of myself, let us all show our respect to our Royal Leader―King Asgore!"

The orchestra began to play a loud tune as the main doors to the ballroom opened and the crowd quickly made a pathway. You saw King Asgore slowly come into view and felt your heart stop for a second as you stared at the ruler of all monsters, the King of the Underground. Every monster he walked by curtsied or bowed and as he got closer Undyne shouted very loudly, startling you ever so slightly.

"Attention!!" Undyne shouted.

All of the Guards obeyed and waited for her next command.

"Salute!!!"

You all saluted as the king walked onto the stage from the opposite side from you and walked over to Mettaton who was standing next to the microphone as he bowed and took a few steps back. The music was coming to an end as Undyne shouted one last time.

"At ease!!!"

The music ended perfectly after a few seconds and then there was silence as everyone waited to hear what their king had to say. He tapped on the microphone to make sure it was working and spoke with a calm sense of power in his voice.

"We have gathered here tonight to celebrate the Royal Guards for their service towards the Underground; protecting the throne, keeping us safe from danger and most importantly giving us determination that one day we will be free from this wretched way of living beneath the world."

The crowd cheered and clapped as Asgore walked over to Undyne and towered over her by a foot as she stood stern. A monster came to Asgore's side holding a box that had gold and sliver medals placed inside as he picked up the biggest one.

"As we all know, Undyne has been in the royal guard for fifteen years―seven of those years as being the youngest head of the Royal Guard. Today I promote her with our highest rank as being my personal body guard."

The audience clapped as he put the golden heart shaped pin onto Undyne who couldn't help but give a yellow toothy smile as she saluted to the king. He had then moved onto Papyrus who was standing next in line. Papyrus straightened up and puffed out his chest just a tiny bit as King Asgore was handed the second biggest medal that looked like a sliver shield.

"Because Undyne has now been relieved from the duties of being head of the Royal Guard, I now do the honor of promoting Papyrus as the second-in-command leader of the Royal Guard."

The crowd clapped once more as Papyrus smiled just like Undyne did and saluted Asgore. You weren't exactly sure if the king had finished or not since you couldn't break position by turning your head to see what was going on. The crowd's applause slowly died down as you heard the heavy footsteps of the king coming your way who stopped right in front of you, blocking your vision of the crowd and casting a shadow over you. His complexion was similar to Toriel's but with a few different details, his fur was a darker gray and had the pupils of a goat while the rest of his eye were colored blood red. He reminded you of the old pictures of Satan who was drawn as a goat but as the king stood in your vision, you felt like you were meeting Satan himself for the first time. Thoughts were racing through your mind to why the King would be standing in front of you as your body trembled ever so slightly.
