The Secret Life of Chloe Lyons #WATTYS2015

Chloe's House - Living Room - Thursday August 25nd - 8:00 P.M.

I stare at Carter for the longest time.

Damn. That girl loves the Danielle's family.

I smirk at him.

He looks at me, confuzzled. "Chloe, I just told you that Meagan isn't the one who killed your friend and she's been seeing my older brother... and your... smiling?"

I look at him. "Huh?"

He shakes his head smiling at me.

"So... We have no lead... again." I look at him, understanding what's going on.

"I was just... I was just so mad." he says.

I laugh. "Well I guess Meagan just has a thing for your family."

"I wasn't angry about that. I mean that's just... wrong. My brother is 25 years old! I was mad about thinking she killed Emma... But she didn't..." He looks down.

Suddenly his cell phone rings.

He doesn't answer it.

I give him a confused look.

"It's Meagan." He says, sighing.

I look. down. "Don't you have Meagan's phone right now?"

"I do. Maybe she's calling from her moms phone... or my brothers." He says.

His phone ring, again.

"Aren't you going to answer it?" I ask him.

"I can't talk to her now, Chloe." He sighs.

His phone rings again!

He turns it off.

"We'll that doesn't change the fact that you two used to date." I say.

"Chloe, Meagan and I are over and that's all that matters."

"You told me I was your first girlfriend, Carter. You told me you would never lie to me. That's what's wrong." I look at him.

He stands up and sighs. "Chloe-"

Suddenly Joe comes from downstairs, shirtless and wearing sweatpants. His dark blue eyes turn darker as he spots Carter.

"Is there a problem, Chloe?" Joe asks, walking closer to the scene. "I heard a noise." Suddenly, he stops.

"What is Joe doing in your house?" Carter asks me, moving his fists. "Are you... seeing him now?"

"Carter, it's not what it looks like..." I try to say, holding him away from Joe.

"So we meet again, Carter." Joe says, walking up to him.

"Joe..." I caution him.

"What do you even want, Joe?" Carter says, annoyed.

"Dude, I want to know what happened." Joe says.

"Why don't you tell me what happened?" Carter says back.

Allison comes down, suddenly. "What's... what's going on?" Allison stands near Joe.

He looks at me and wraps his arm around Allison.

I look down.

Allison gives another confused look to everyone. Her dark brown eyes are glowing.

"It's... it's nothing, Allison." I answer.

"Joe? Wanna tell me what happened?" Carter fires back.

Joe sighs. "What happened, is that you stopped talking to me."

"Really? Because what it seemed like is you stopped talking to me. You avoided me, Joe. Especially when I needed you the most."

I get in the middle of them, tired of trying to find out 'what happened'. Obviously nobody's going to talk.

"Okay! So... Are you guys all good?"

"Carter. Let's just put the past behind us. We hate each other forever, or we can apologize." Joe offers.

Carter sighs, loudly. "Fine. Only because of Chloe." He looks at me.

I look down.

"Awww! That is so cute!" Allison says jumping up and down. "Speaking of Chloe and Carter, I've been meaning to ask you Carter... I've made us reservations for a double date! You Chloe, me and Joe! You down?"

"You-" Carter starts.

"You what?!" Joe cuts him off, looking at Allison. "You told me it was just going to be you and me..."

Allison looks up at him patting his chest. "Well I felt bad about Chloe and Carter's relationship... so I wanted to add them!"

I look at all of them.

Carter looks at me. "What do you say?" He asks.

This is all way too crazy right now.

"I need some... air." I say, walking outside.

I take a deep breathe.

This is way to soon to talk to Carter now... I'm not ready.

Suddenly, my phone beeps.

It's a text message.

I look around before reading it.

It's a blocked message.

Blocked Number: He's all yours. Meagan is dead. She knew too much. xoxo, me.

I breathe really hard and start crying.

She knew too much? Did she know who killed Emma? She kept calling Carter...

Suddenly, everyone comes outside all at once.

"I'm sorry, Chloe, I didn't mean too. We don't have to have the dinner!" Allison says, trying to make me feel better.

I try to speak, words won't come out.

"I can... I can leave..." Carter says, trying walking off.

"You can't leave, Carter." I say, quietly.

He walks back to our porch. "What's up?"

I throw my phone flat on the ground.

The text message is showing.

Allison exclaims.

Joe covers his mouth.

Carter stands there.

Two's already gone... I think.

I'm now finally starting to ask myself,

How far will this go?

*Ayyyeeo! Another filler chapter! I'll probably update either later today or tomorrow like usual.
