Taylor's P.O.V

My dad was ok. He was doing great actually. He was a little weak and really tired but he was getting his strength back slowly and getting stronger every single day. We'd all barely left his side in two weeks. But he was getting out today. We were going to take him back home and we were all pretty excited about it.

Corey was heading back to Vancouver tomorrow for school now that everything was ok. But we were hosting a surprise welcome home party at my old family home tonight. My dad hated parties and being the centre of attention, a little like myself, but there really was a cause to celebrate tonight.

My mom was still at the hospital to take dad home every one else was at my house setting up, decorating or making food. It had been a crazy, sleep deprived and emotionally stressful couple of weeks. But now everything felt even better than it had before. I wouldn't ever take another day of my life for granted after this.

All those dumb things I'd fought with my dad about growing up. I felt so fucking stupid now. He could have died. We all knew that. So I wasn't going to regret anything any more. And I was going to spend as much time with my family and the people I loved as was humanly possible. I loved my job. But these guys were way more important.

I was in a good place right now. Happier. Mark had been so great this whole time. There was nothing he wouldn't do for me. And Tom too. They'd both been so supportive. I was truly blessed to have them in my life.

Jen was attempting to hang the bunting on the walls in the living room but her beautiful giant bump was getting in the way.  Tom came over to help her and gently took the bunting from her hands which caused Jen to get a little mad at him.

"I'm not useless you know. Just pregnant. Which by the way is all your fault. Thanks."

She said as she turned from him sharply and sat on the couch huffily. She attempted to cross her arms over her bump as she glared back at Tom.

Tom sighed and rolled his eyes at me mouthing "hormones".

I bit my lip and held in a giggle.
It was adorable watching how protective he was of her and the baby. Tom was going to be a really great dad. I knew that much already.

I went over to Jen and handed her a cup of hot tea.

I sat down next to Jen and Tom looked at me in alarm. He didn't want me to be on the other end of the pregnancy hormones either clearly.

I took Jen's hand and she smiled at me softly.

"You know Tom doesn't think you're useless. He's just worried about you. You know it's actually guys that feel pretty useless through the whole pregnancy thing...so if him hanging up bunting for you makes him feel useful for a second then maybe you should just let him do it."

Jen held my gaze and nodded.

"I really don't mean to be so mean to him but I just do feel so useless sometimes. I can't do any of the stuff I used to do. I can't even tie my own shoes." She admitted tearily.

Poor Jen she was getting tired so easily now as she neared the end of her pregnancy. And her hormones were going crazy too making her all emotional.

I rubbed her shoulder comfortingly.

"Jen you're growing a human being inside of you. That's pretty amazing. So don't you dare think you're being useless. Maybe just let Tom tie your shoes next time ok? He likes it taking care of you. And the baby. You're lucky you know having him by your side...even if he is an annoying ass sometimes."
