Taylor's P.O.V

April 15th

"Yo meet you at the Starbucks outside my work in like an hour? I have a lunch break. Xx"

I drummed my fingers on my desk as I awaited Tom's reply.

"Sweet. See you soon. T. Xx"

I bit my lip as I messaged Mark. This was a horrible idea.

"Hey wanna grab lunch with me in the Starbucks outside my office? Xx"

I knew Mark didn't have plans today and that he was meant to be beginning to decorate the baby's nursery and that he'd be procrastinating.

"Awesome. Sure. I've been working super hard on the nursery by the way. Love you. Xx"

I laughed out loud.

"Liar. See you soon. Love you. Xx"

I bit my lip. They couldn't both hate me for this could they?

The new issue would hit the printers tomorrow. I had a copy in my hands. They'd did great work with the photographs and layout. It was a flip edition so both of them got on the front cover. I smiled. They both looked so cute. My boys. Together again. But a million miles apart still.  I stuck a post it on the cover.

"Please read this before you talk. Or fight. Love Taylor. xx"

Please, please make this go well.

Marks P.O.V

I was about to head into the Starbucks when I got a message from Taylor.

"Running late babe. Can you get me a double shot vanilla latte?"

I frowned. Well that was weird.

1) Taylor couldn't drink caffeinated coffee a lot now especially a strong one.
2) Taylor hated vanilla lattes or any kind of flavoured syrups.

Vanilla lattes were Tom's favourite...that was his drink.

I walked in and ordered in a complete daze. Someone tapped my shoulder. It was Taylor's assistant Ashleigh she looked nervous.

"Uh Mark this is for you. Taylor sent me. She said she's sorry and not to get mad?"

I frowned as I took the envelope from her.

"Uh...ok. Thanks Ashleigh."

Ashleigh made a speedy exit as I opened up the envelope.

I had a very bad feeling about this.  It was the new issue. With a post it with Taylor's handwriting and a note attached. I read the note.

"Please don't be mad. I knew you'd say no to meeting him if I'd told the truth. I'm sorry. And please don't fight. I promise I'll make it up to you but before you leave or both of you start fighting will you at least read this first? Love T xox"

I sighed.

This was really, really bad. Taylor wasn't coming but Tom was. It all made sense now. I picked up my coffee order with my heart pounding. I was so nervous. We hadn't spoken or seen one another in over a year and that had been intentional.

Tom was here. He was looking at his phone. No doubt an apology text from Taylor. I was beyond mad at her. I knew she only ever tried to help people but this was a whole new level of meddling, even for her.

Tom looked at me and I looked at him. His eyes widened on me and we just stood there in the middle of the busy coffee shop neither of us daring to speak or move. Well this was awkward.
