Knowing you'll be in his arms each time I blink my eyes.

Taylor's P.O.V

Lizzie had seemed surprised and a little nervous, which set alarm bells off in my head, about my impromptu visit.

We'd arrived back in L.A and I was heading straight to Lizzie's jet lag and all. Something was definitely up and Travis was right to be worried. I was too.

"Trav once I find out what's up. I'll give you a call. Ok?"

Travis nodded. He looked so worried.

I smiled and hugged him tightly.

"Hey. Get some rest ok? It's going to be ok? I promise."

Travis nodded and kissed my forehead gently.

"Thanks for doing this. I owe you...we all do. All 3 of us. If it weren't for you then-"

I shook my head.

"You don't owe me anything-"

Travis shook his head.

"No. We owe you everything. You really don't get how special you are do you? You're the greatest friend anyone could ask for. "

I felt so completely valued and loved in  that moment. Travis had been my friend for a long time but he was rarely this vocal and open. That meant a lot.

"Thanks Trav. You know over the years Tom and I argued and fell out. Even Mark and I have had our ups and downs. But you and I...we never even so much as exchanged a single heated word and that tells me how great a friend you are too. You're a great guy Trav. The best. And Lizzie knows that too. Trust me."

Trav blushed lightly, a rare sight, and nodded.

"I'm going to fix this. I promise."

"Ok. Call me." He said meaningfully.

I nodded as we both drove our separate ways.

It was weird coming back to this house. Our dream home. That wasn't technically ours anymore. I longed to bring back the happy times we'd had here. All together. But nothing could bring those days back.

I rang the doorbell and Lizzie opened the door. She grinned and wrapped me up in  hug.  I drew back and looked at her closely. She looked beautiful, happy...But beneath that facade I saw a tension ready to break through her smile.

We exchanged small talk as she made tea for us.

"I've been loving living here but the tea is fucking awful. How's Mark?"

I smiled as I slipped on my tea.

"He's better. Travis visited and they started working on music together. That made him really happy."

I watched Lizzie carefully.  She paled at the mention of his name.

"Oh...you've seen Travis...did he say anything?" She asked.

Her voice was shaking as were her hands.

I shrugged playing dumb.

"What about?" I asked.

Lizzie sipped on her tea quietly.

"Nothing. I just wondered if he was doing ok. I haven't seen him in a while...We sort of fell out."

I frowned. Lizzie was speaking so quietly I could barely hear her. She was acting so strangely.

"About?" I encouraged.

She shrugged.

"It's nothing. He was just getting clingy. You know how I like my independence. I don't need anyone. Love, marriage...babies... just aren't my thing. It's for the best."
