I walk across the stage in my gown and hat, forcing myself not to look into the crowd or else I may laugh.
“YOU’RE HOT!” I hear someone yell.
“FUCK OFF MATE, THAT’S MY GIRL!” I slam my palm against my forehead, trying to hide myself from the embarrassment of my best friend and my boyfriend who are seated together in the crowd. I hear a loud cat call come from the side of the stage and look to see a green haired boy grinning at me. I quickly accept my graduation certificate and run off the stage.
“Michael I swear to god-” I scream and the whole audience starts laughing.
Finally, I was finished with high school, what a bittersweet saying.
I sprint off after Michael, finally reaching him and colliding my fist to his stomach.
“What the hell man?!” I scream.
“C’mon, you need a little embarrassment when you’re walking across the stage!”
“Haha, yeah, I need you, Troye, and Ashton embarrassing me. Really nice, thanks guys.” I spit sarcastically at him.
He looks at me really confused, even though I’m sure I’ve already explained this to him, “Why did you graduate this year anyways? You’re a year younger than me aren’t you?” He asks me.
“Really, Michael? Fine, when I was still in Perth I was taking online courses for the next year so I could finish early. I know I’m not the smartest girl here, I barely passed a lot of my classes, but I kept doing the courses after I transferred here. So I did two years in one!” I say, explaining my situation. You weren’t normally allowed to do that, but the teachers back in Perth felt bad for me so they gave me the opportunity to do that instead.
“That makes sense, I’m surprised I didn’t end up dropping out.” He chuckles.
“What are Calum and Luke going to do, you know, with the tour this year and school?” I ask. I was extremely curious about what was happening with the tour. Ashton always avoided talking about it because he didn’t want to speak about us being apart. As long as we didn’t talk about it, I guess it didn’t exist.
“They’re dropping out, for now at least. We’re all really committed.” He says, smiling.
“That’s good, I’m proud of you guys.” I say, beginning to tear up. He sees me getting overwhelmed and quickly looks around to see if people were watching. He must’ve seen someone important because he engulfs me into a tight hug.
“I know you don’t want us to leave, I’m really sorry, but Ash is coming so wipe the tears away please. I know you don’t want him to see them.” He says in my ears as he hugs me, obscuring the approaching boys view from me. I quickly collect myself, pulling away from Michael as Ashton comes up.
“Congratulations! Did you like our comments?” Ashton says, winking at me.
“I hate you both.” Flipping Ashton and Troye off for their great words of wisdom earlier.
“Well, Troye wasn’t lying, you are hot. And all mine.”
“Oh stop it.” I respond, giving him a kiss to shut him up. He smiles into the kiss and I pull away laughing.
“I’m really happy you flew in just to see me graduate.” I say to Troye. We basically haven’t stopped talking since he got in. We stayed in my room for a full 24 hours just catching up since it had been so long. It was weird how you could miss someone so much even though you were in some sort of contact with them the entire time you were away from them.
