Tobin stayed in her bed that Saturday morning for what seemed like forever. She lied alone in her Portland apartment, dreading the time when she has to get up for practice. Tobin rolls over in her bed, just to see the empty spot next to her. She looks at Alex's pillow, and sighs.
"Why do you have to be so far away." Tobin sighs.
Truly, France was far. Way too far for Tobin to go and just visit for the weekend.
Tobin picks up her phone and texts her girlfriend.
"Morning beautiful. Missing you more than ever today..." -T
"Aw baby, good morning..Miss you so much :("-A
"How much longer until you come home again?"-T
"A month and a half :("-A
"You're driving me crazy Al :("-T
"I'm sorry baby..you should come over and visit."-A
"I don't know..The doctor's don't want me traveling because of my back..Guess I'll just have to wait some more :("-T
"It will fly by, I promise."-A
"Not going fast enough.."-T
"I love you Toby <3"-A
"I love you too beautiful..have a great day okay?"-T
"Thanks baby..it's like 4 in the morning here lol."-A
"Well then get some sleep..You have a game tomorrow."-T
"Fine..Talk to you later Toby."
"Okay..I love you.."-T

Tobin puts her phone down on the kitchen counter. Texting just wasn't enough. She needed to see Alex..and fast!
She's a doll, a catch, a winner

Could ever grasp or understand just what she means
"Tobin...Tobin? Did you hear what I said?" The PT guy says in the Thorns training room.
"Huh?" Tobin asks snapping out of her thoughts.
"I said you're back seems to be making excellent progress..You'll be back on the field in a few weeks."
"Really? That's great! Can I fly yet?" Tobin says excitedly.
The trainer thinks for a moment.
"Well..yes, I suppose you could."
Tobin gets the biggest smile on her face. She'll finally get to go to France and see Alex.

Tobin puts her carry on above her seat on the plane and sits down. She feels for the small something in her jacket pocket just one more time before the plane took off. This was going to be a special trip.

Tobin got off the plane after what seemed like hours of flying. She lived in Paris for about 2 years back in 2013, so she had a special place for France in her heart. She lived in Paris, the city of love, where she learned many things about herself.
