Chapter Eighteen: Truth

"Leader-sama, you called?" Sakura asked.

"Sakura." Pein commanded in a strict tone.

"Your kekkei genkai, the one that can copy other eye techniques..." Pein trailed as he thought of something.

Sakura waited for him to continue, guessing that this conversation is leading to something weird.

"I want you to copy my Rinnegan." Pein ordered. Sakura was taken aback by his sudden order and explained to him again. "Leader-sama when I copy people's eye technique, I can use it whenever, wherever and forever. Are you sure you want to let me copy your rinnegan?" Sakura asked.

"Do not question my orders." Pein chided, and stared at Sakura with those ringed eyes of his. Sakura shrugged but did what he told her to anyway. She looked into Pein's eyes and slowly analysed the Rinnegan. Closing her eyes was part of the process as she tries to copy it exactly in her head.

When she opened it, the Rinnegan was visible in her eyes. Pein kept silent but scribbled something down on a piece of paper. "Sakura, show me the other eye powers you have." Pein asked. "Yes, Leader-sama." Sakura replied.

Almost immediately, Sakura showed her Byakugan, Sharingan and then the Rinnegan. "Let me show you something else, Leader-sama." Sakura suggested. She closed her eyes for five seconds and opened it to show the Byakugan in her left eye and the Sharingan in her right eye. 

Pein's eyes widen ever so slightly but he still did not utter a single word at this feat. "Now that I have the Rinnegan, I can even use it with the Sharingan." Sakura informed him proudly, with a smirk. " I never knew you could be this powerful. You're even stronger than Madara now..." Pein said but whispered the last part.

"Tobi?" Sakura asked. "How did you-" Pein tried to say but was cut off by none other than Sakura. "What did you think I travelled alone for the past three months for? Surely you don't think my meeting with Sasori was a coincidence. And please don't forget, I was someone with authority back in Konoha so I had a little access to certain files." Sakura explained, trying not to sound too smug.

"Now I definitely have no regrets in recruiting you." Pein smirked.

"Thank you, Leader-sama." Sakura bowed respectfully.

-------------In Konoha--------------

"Tsunade-sama, Konoha 12 is back." A shinobi reported. "Summon them here, now!" Tsunade commanded and slammed her table.

~~A few minutes later~~

"Tsunade obaa-chan..." Naruto trailed off. Sasuke, Kiba, Karin and Ino weren't here since they were in the hospital.

"What happened?" Tsunade asked. "We went to find Misaki and that's when we found out Sakura was Misaki..." Naruto continued. "What?!" Tsunade screamed, again. All these information was too much for her to handle.

"All this time we were tricked? But how? Nothing seemed to be wrong... Even you guys didn't think there was a problem." Tsunade thought aloud. "They might not have, but some of us did." Shikamaru spoke up.

"What do you mean?" Tsunade asked.

"Ever since we brought Sasuke back, attention was all on him and Karin has been spreading false rumours about Sakura. She had felt left out to begin with but as the days went by, those lies seemed to be more true to Naruto and the rest which made them devide to believe in her instead of Sakura, their own teammate. Sakura ignored that fact and trained her butt off every single day. Despite feeling hurt as her faith in Naruto wasn't returned to her. So now, she's back to get revenge. That's what I think." Shikamaru explained like the grnius he is.
