Chapter Nineteen: Mission in Konoha

'They could be right...' Sasuke thought.

Sasuke slowly strolled down the streets as it was getting dark. He was still thinking about what Naruto had said. Suddenly a flashback appeared in his mind.

"Happy 4th birthday Sasuke!" Mom and dad congratulated. "Arigato oto-san, okaa-san!" Little Sasuke said while hugging his presents. "Here's your present from onii-san." Itachi said. "Arigato onii-san!" Little Sasuke went over and grabbed his other present."Where's onee-chan?" Little Sasuke asked. "She'll be here soon, wait a little while more okay, Sasuke?"  Itachi assured.

"Sorry I'm late Sasu! I got you a present!" Sakura yelled. She always called Sasuke: Sasu since young. "Arigato onee-chan! Can you play with me?" Little Sasuke asked. "Why not?" Sakura smiled. "Yay! Onee-chan you rock!" Little Sasuke pumped his fist into the air.Sakura looked over at Itachi and asked,"Nii! Wanna play with us?"  "It's okay, you two go ahead while I go and talk with oto-san and okaa-san." Itachi said. "Okay!" They shouted back in unison. 

After a few minutes of catching outside the village, Sakura and Sasuke decided to go back. When they reached the Uchiha mansion, not a single sound was heard. "Okaa-san? Oto-san? Where are you?" Sasuke asked a little scared. "Onee-chan...I-I'm scared..." Sasuke cried. "Don't worry Sasu, I'll protect you!" Sakura assured. At this moment, Itachi came down with a bloody sword in his hands. "Nii? Where's oto-san and okaa-san?" Sakura asked.

"They are dead. I killed them. Everyone of the Uchiha clan is dead." Itachi said coldly. "Wh-why?! Nii! Wh-why?! Why on my birthday?! Why did you kill oto-san and okaa-san?!'' Sasuke shouted angrily. "Why? Even if I said, you won't understand." Itachi said and ran out of the house. He was stopped when Sasuke screamed," I hate you nii! I'll revenge oto-san and okaa-san!" 

Sakura just stood there as Itachi showed his Sharingan to Sasuke. Sasuke seemed to be trapped in a genjutsu which made him fell onto the floor crying. Sakura just looked at Itachi and asked," Why, nii?" Without a single tear dropping down from her eyes. "Sakura, I believe in you. Do you believe in me?" Itachi said. "Y-yes, nii. But please, tell me why?" Sakura begged. 

"I can't tell you anything but all I can say for now, is take care of Sasuke, survive and we will meet someday." Itachi told her as a tear fell from his onyx eyes that held ever so little emotion. When Sasuke woke up, his memories of Sakura were no longer with him. Only his hatred for Itachi. 

"What the hell was that? A flashback? Sakura was my... sister?! Impossible! But it so real and nostalgic..." Sasuke said to himself. "So, it seems the seal has weakened." Itachi said from behind Sasuke. "Itachi! How long have you been here?!' Sasuke exclaimed. "Since your flashback started." Itachi said.

"So you do have something to do with it. What a coincidence, I have a few questions for you." Sasuke said. "I can't promise I'll answer all of them." Itachi answered.

"Why was Sakura in my flashback? Is she really my sister? Why did you kill everyone in the Uchiha clan except me and Sakura?" Sasuke shot. Itachi kept silent. "Answer me!" Sasuke shouted. "You have to find that out yourself." Itachi replied and disappeared in a flock of crows.

"Itachi..." Sasuke mumured. "I'll find out myself and when I do, you'll be seeing me again." Sasuke whispered to himself.

"I'm going with you guys." Sasuke told Naruto. "What made you change your mind to apologize?" Naruto asked. "I'm not going to apologize, I just have some questions for her." Sasuke stated bluntly. "Whatever." Naruto said. 

~~~~~ 3 days later~~~~~

"Sakura, I have a mission for you." Pein called out from his office. 

"Coming, Leader-sama." Sakura dropped whatever she was doing and sprinted to his office.

"Sakura, your mission is to go into Konoha and pass this to a certain spy of the Akatsuki." Pein explained as he gave her a box and a scroll. "Hai, Leader-sama. But, why me?" Sakura asked.

"I think it's a good chance to break all your ties with Konoha once and for all. The mission will last for two days and you will be going alone." Pein explained. "Yes, I'll be off now. Leader-sama." Sakura took the scroll and left Pein's office with a heavy heart.

"Bye nii! I'll be on a mission for two days, don't miss me too much okay?" Sakura smiled at Itachi and he smiled back at her.

"Stay safe and make sure you finish what you set off to do okay?" Itachi reminded which made Sakura smile again. "Yes I will, nii-san."

Sakura left the hideout for Konoha. She wore her usual outfit she would wear when she goes training so that she could blend in. She didn't care about transforming into someone else since settling ties with Konoha would require her to be in her real form, no more pretense.

"I'm here to see the Hokage but I'm not turning myself in." Sakura said to the guards. "What makes you think we'll let you pass, traitor?" One of the guards mocked but still stood on guard. Sakura rolled their eyes at their antics. "If you don't want to get hurt by this traitor, then I suggest you let me pass in peace." Sakura warned and folded her arms at them.

"Hmph. We'll escort you to the Hokage!" He said irritatedly, dragging her along by the hand roughly. "Careful where you touch or you'll be crying to me when you realised you lose your manlihood." Sakura glared at him.

"Hokage-sama, someone's here to see you." The guy said after knocking on the door. "Enter!" 

"Hello, Hokage-sama." Sakura greeted emotionlessly.

"S-Sakura!" Tsunade stood up from her seat and went up to Sakura excitedly. "I've missed you, my precious-" She was cut off by Sakura. "I'm here for business, Hokage-sama. I'd appreciate it if you'd let me get to the point." Sakura said. "R-right." Tsunade cleared her throat.

"...and that would be the reason why I'm here." Sakura explained. "Very well then. Please make yourself at home. If you have any troubles feel free to approach any of our ninjas." Tsunade said hospitably. "That would be very much appreciated." Sakura bowed and proceeded to the door of the office only to be stopped by Tsunade again.

"Sakura about-" 

"Hokage-sama, I would appreciate if you were to stop calling me so casually. Do address me as Haruno-san. Thank you." Sakura was clearly annoyed but managed to keep her cool.

"Yes, please go ahead Haruno-san." Tsunade continued, sadness evident in her voice. Sakura left the room and proceeded out. "Call Konoha 12 and Kakashi here, pronto." Tsunade ordered. 

"You called, Tsunade obaa-chan?" Naruto asked with his hands at his neck. 

"Sakura's in Konoha."
